Hi fleas,

your advice is really crucial for me. Thanks! This is my first FI bike =| n yeap crazygig89, I did go down to HQ and they change my fuel pump and air filter which was a k&n from prev owner. they did say to warm up for at least 5mins before riding off.

I usually left it to warm up for abt 2.5-3mins. n yes, the first red light, down gear it died. okays i will take note of ur tips regarding the 5k mark. thou still running in, i kinda rev hard, 7k mark then chge gear..i notice also if i change at 3 or 4 it will take an ice age for the speedo to go up ( sometimes at 5th gear im still 50-60kmh)

still getting used to it. thank you!

i hardly experience this , but it did happen once or twice only due to faulty fuel pump. My bike close to 4 year life-span, i changed 2 fuel pump already........

What i think is the cause of this is the fuel pump or side-stand switch. If the fuel pump does not pump sufficient fuel into the engine, the engine is bound to die. You can ask roy to check the fuel pump for you, but he will not be able to determine if thats the cause of your problem.

I do warm up my bike, but for a very short period. I will not throttle to high rev until i see my temp hits 2bars. Also this bike cannot change at 3 or 4k rpm, unless you want to go slow. If you want to pick-up speed faster, its recommended to change abv 8k. I change 1st gear at 5-7k rpm and above gear 2, 7k rpm and above.

my 2cents worth of though and comments (=

but recently, im having problems achieving speeds at gear 5 and it feels like my engine power output has dropped.. just did my servicing last week, a little improvement, but it does not feels normal to me... maybe its time for a overhaul soo.. $_$

oh ya, you guys(newer) can try these to improve performance:

maintenance:

1) Pump up tire pressure everytime you pump up fuel. i pump 225kpa 245kpa. tires should be "cold" for accuracy.

2) Lube your chains about 5k km. but i do it as soon i see it gone from riding in rain....etc.

3) On occasions, i try to rev over 10k rpm to clear carbon deposits in gear 4/5 but of course riding your bike hard once in awhile will do.

Add-ons:

1) Voltage stabilizers are great to maintain and make our batt last as our bikes uses quite a lot of electrical power.(Power abuser....etc)

2) K&N filter; makes a hell lot of difference to sound(louder) and performance(tends to open up more). There have been feedbacks that it might cause the bike to die in extremely heavy rain but for me never really happened before

3) Aftermarket Exhaust: this one is optional as currently we do not have legal full system exhaust for our bikes, only end-cans. It does make abit if performance push. Not that great but does help a lot with K&N filter installed. Note: shorter exhaust helps lower RPM(6k rpm and below) and longer exhaust helps higher RPM(6k rpm and above). Current one we have if i not wrong is ixil shorty carbono; short exhaust, great for accelerating.

for me i had that problem, like it idles lower than normal (1.5k rpm) then dies. After i cleaned my fuel injectors and put some fuel injector cleaner in with petrol. The problem has solved. So if you still experiencing the problem, you can try buying fuel injector cleaner and put in ur petrol tank.

Guys thanks for the heads up on the add ons..Any of you guys from the east side as I still have yet to see another rwr on the road..

By the way if you change your gears at the higher rev you will achieve better top end..Tried mine at 139km/h..

Not into speeding but just want see how fast my baby can go..

Hi guys, I've some queries while I'm buying a 2 years old RWR.

1. By reading some very first post, some Sifu mentioned about the running in, which is the first 500KM (or?) is advisable to ride below 7k rev. Since Im buying a used 2 years old RWR, I don't need to care about this right?

2. Before I ask, I have to say that I'm totally FRESH to hand clutched motor. How does RWR gear up/down? @.@ (hopefully the used RWR comes with user manual. I tried to find online but couldn't get it). Hook up to gear up (gear 1, 2,3 ...) and press to gear down(gear 5,4,3...)?

3. Do you use the clutch + gear down to slow down your bike? As while driving manual car this is another way to speed down the car.

4...

Err actually still have a lots more question... regarding modding...tyre...currently read until page 15 on this thread...

Thanks in advance! for replying my query.

Kick up or down to either increase your gear or down gear. and regarding the use on engine breaking is personal preference, for me i do use engine break often.
