This is due to mechanical parts wear & tear such as lengthen of clutch cable, worn clutch plate, loss of spring force, etc.....

More of the time is due to loosen of mechanical fastener..:faint:

due to vibration.

Clutch cable can be adjusted by

1. turning the cable adjuster attached on the clutch lever holder....& make sure u tighten the lock nut as it will loosen due to vibration...

2. turning the nuts located near the end of clutch cable....The two nuts that secure the cable on a holder....at the crankcase..

well... phantom's fc can vary greatly... I know mine is about 26-33km/l... depends on how I ride...

so it should be normal. just wait and see what is your next fc reading... and please take the reading only when you pump at least 8 litres for it to be reasonably accurate

lol that just means double the waiting time... don't overhaul together

I just took out my back box side leather backs what ever the weight can drop i drop it. And I say PHANTOM IS FAST!!! And super comfortable light at the back most of all can corner :p - Maybe im out of point putting this here.

Yes dropping weight really helps!

Do the suspension up and you'll know what I'm up to lol. (and that's not talking about airbox/exhaust/carb DIY work yet :3) Still does 350+km before reserve more or less full throttle all the way. Half a super 4 power but twice the economy = super 2 :p

In the unofficial "Marsiling Lane streetcross competition" last night the Phantom came out second when somehow all my neighbours and I appeared at the same junction at exactly the same time going back home to the same place and omg, rojak cafe racing lol.

Considering I have the oldest and heaviest bike that speaks a lot for dinosaur Thai technology :p As again I made use of the fact I can go full throttle everywhere whereas bigger bikes had to be cautious of their traction.

Unlike thechosenx I was carrying about 10kg of groceries in the back and the extra weight over the back axle allowed me to gain extra traction and stability.. erm, sure it's more inertia but just do arabian belly dance to snap roll in corners :D

normally i dun wait till reserve, about 200... but since i work near tuas i might as well stretch the limit abit more than go pump at msia, more worth it :cheeky: and i need to experiment on this new tank anyway

phantom's reserve is very generous... you can still ride from tuas to changi on reserve... so dun worry about it...

For me taking out the boxes makes my back suspension became quite hard. And im quite happy about it because cornering right now is much easier and more stability.

But right now the problem with my bike is; my friend tried my bike and said that my front handle is very loose said something with conrod. Sometimes on side stand with my handle straight. It turns left by itself to the locking position. Cornering also is scary as the handle is very easy to turn there's no "faction". Not sure how to explain that. Anyone knows what's the real problem?

Posted

Err.. If change cone will I need to change fork oil? My friend told me that. how much will it cost for the cone? also I'm very new on fork oil is there a grade or diff? hope you guys can teach me.

Posted

It's not time for me to replace the cone yet although I might just send it to Planet tomorrow for a routine 11,000km checkup. I like to see what's being destroyed from all the Need for Speed action :3

If you're forced to service the forks at the same time you could 'persuade' the mechs to customise the stiffness for you :3

Posted

Well I didn't build the bike, the mechs did. I believe they will know what to do when you tell them "my &%$&%$$@ front suspension is too spongy. Stiffen them".

If you do them up so that you can no longer compress them using your arms and body weight, that's how stiff mine are. Might as well compare them to F1 car suspensions. They are solid but at speed, they work great and the handling is terrific. Just get used to riding with weight forward and build up your arm muscles :D

I press down on the front so forcing the suspension to absorb bumps. Don't really care for bumpiness anyway since I do gym and all.

Try at own risk nya? Let me know how it is, and I can share the next tier of Super 2 secrets.

how to insert them into the keyhole and not leak out n damage the bike part/paint? i believe it will take quite some time too dissolve it too... guess have to tow to bike shop 1st... hope we will never encounter this ourselves
