No Cirgattes Out fo Singapore Custom

Me myself quited smoking.... but just kaypo....

 

Ytd my dad show me a chinese newpapers tat sumone kanna fined for bring a pack of cirgattes out of custom... with a pack n less one sticks oso will must go red channels to declare... wondering if its serious abt no more cirgattes can be bring out from malaysia to singapore..?

 

Heard gotta to pay tax $7 for each packs... wondering if it is true?

I think Customs are tightening up coz maybe smuggling of contraband ciggies are increasing?

This is true, but it is not very consistent, that's what I feel...

 

My M'sian friend also got confused, as when he enter the green channel to enter with a pack less one stick, he got held up, and custom officer telling him it's wrong.. The next time, he went thru the red channel, and the officer laughed at him for declaring..

 

I think it's like, take your chance.. Get caught, pay the tax.. Dun get caught, just zip the lips...

 

So far, I haven't been stopped for checking... So can't comment..

 

Would also appreciate if someone could clarify how true this is...

1 Packet without opening = $200 first fine.

1 Parket with opening ( 19 stick ) = $0 ( but must declare )

1st timer = $200

2nd timer = $400

3rd timer = $800

More then 5 pack = Hand over to police.

 

 

Tax only apply if u have :

1 Parket with opening ( 19 stick ) = $0 ( but must declare )+ Another packet with 3-4 stick left.

Then u need to pay the tax for the Another packet but u can choose to throw away,then = $0

For 1 pack unopen,

The chances are : $200 fine if tat officer is a *******.or ask u to open it before leaving but chances are slim.cause too many eyes are looking ( u know what i mean )

think to declare a packet is too troublesome, luckily I don't smoke but sometimes help family to buy

i was caught b4 at amk central...

at 1st i duno msia ciggy also cant smoke... when the officer catch mi i still lau lan wif him...

i had a conflict wif him... as he is very xia lan too....

 

anyway... tats wad he told mi... even if 1 stick also muct declare... n even 1 stick of undeclare ciggy is also liable 2 be fine ($200)...

 

although he giv mi a chance at the end.. but still i was so angry tat day...

one pack fine is $200... Irregardless of how many sticks you have in the pack... Now even using cigarette case, they can check one.. AMK was one of the most hijacked place for officers to go round check2.. dunno why they picked AMK.. But ya..

 

I stopped buying many2 from JB... Now one pack also lazy to buy to bring in... But then again, how these officer know you declare or not at custom? Got receipt meh? Then must bring that everywhere you go is it?

I dun dare smoke at AMK de.. They take your cigarette put dunno what to test whether singapore cigarette or not one.. Some kind of chemical reaction thingy... Saw one guy kena, put in case, then say singapore cigarette, the officer took dunno do what, show him and say not singapore cigarette... My boyfriend saw and told me, and both of us dun dare to smoke at AMK Central unless it is singapore cigarette...

but im wondering ,if there's 3 ppl is inside a car ,then each person brings

out 1 packet opened(left approz) 15 sticks will they get fined for not declaring???!!just v the confused..
