Every car is built with an intention for sales. So it is not fair to brand any car as good or not. It really depends on the issue of priority. Every car has been specifically designed to target a certain market. It just depends whether do we fall into this group. But with the current price tag, this Hyundai is certainly creating some serious challenge for the competitors.

the price is SGD$39.9K for the 1.6L 5 speed manual.

FC is not listed. But FC is very subjective.

 

My highest achievement was over 19km/l on my current car. The worst was 4km/l at the end of a 1hr track session. A whopping 15km/l difference...

$37999 is inclusive of COE, ins depends on driver itself.. My dad in-law bought an auto version for my wife a few weeks ago at $40999,his ins $801 only cos got NCD.. His OMV $11k which was higher den I think for a Korean car..

Absorbing the COEs jus to push the car out instead of laying around get rusty.

"S" got leather seat, front passenger airbag, climate control, ugly sports rim and reverse sensor. Price diff is 3k. My wife opted for the normal version no point paying more for the car with similar OMV,and since we might be seating our kid in front at times(air bag dangerous for children) no air bag is actually better. I got the sports rim outside for $350 and leather $650. You still getting?

F###king cheap.. But take a little loan as possible if not you'll top up alot if you decide to sell early.. I bought mine on July'07 for $41k(normal plate)..

Avante good built within, comfortable & cosy. Not too noisy compare to Vios. New panel design. 4 disc braking, with ABS if i am not wrong. Spacious enough for family usage.

 

Stops me..... Korean built, not sure if it is as enduring as compare with other Japanese makes, resales value may not as strong as japanese makes. If you are 'player' and change car often, then need to consider a bit.

Other than these...buy it. Worth the money. The amount of Avante on the road speaks for it popularity.

I just check their website, base on 1.1L price $34,200(normal) - $14,700 (OPC), your opc rebate is $19,500?

 

Or did they throw in a $2k discount as well?

decent interior, power wise is too under for my case. met before a TC getz but is hardly able to overtake a taxi sonata

I test drove the Avante 1.6A S model also, with no intention of buying. I was quite surprised by its build quality. I admit I had reservations about Korean makes. The interior was quite refined, and the cabin was quiet. Really quiet. The drive itself was great. Steering was responsive and the brakes were strong. The only problem I had was the auto transmission. It hesistates and thus makes it impotent for overtaking. Everything else including the aircon and sound is simply superb for that price. ($41999 back then.)

 

The only thing that stopped me was the OMV. Less than $12k for a new car, which is less than the OMV of a used Jap 1.6 car (such as Civic or Corolla).
