Power Commander is good to have but not a must!

This is my personal list in sequence of priorieties:

Slipon > De-Cat > Remove Power Valve > AIS Block > Air-Box Mob > High Flow Air Filter > Cable Re-Route > Ivan's FCE > Sub Throttle Plates > Power Commander > Maps & Dyno > (Velocity Stacks optional)

All these mobs will cost you at least minimum $2K and a increase of power 20hp & Torque 10. Thus, once you start you will never stop.

 

Look at your service manual for valve-clearance.

 

Since you have changed 3 sets of tyres on this bike, you should be quite experience & should have been riding for quite a while.

If you change anything major in your intake/exhaust, a PC is probably necessary as your AF ratio would have been affected beyond what the ECU can compensate for.

 

Valve clearance is necessary only after 40K to 60K km on your odo. It's like a topend overhaul.

 

 

Personally, I've a K&N filter, have cut my airbox and removed a catalytic converter from my mid pipes without need for a PC. I still have the stock pipe on though. If I decide on a slip-on, then I'll have to go with a PC. But I foresee my next purchase for the engine would be an FCE.

 

I tend to do the cheap ones first before the expensive ones. See the effect before spending more.

My sequence would be: Change to aftermarket air filter -> Cut air box -> Decat your midpipe -> FCE -> Slip-on + PC3 -> other more fierce stuffs like throttle flies, velocity stack, and stuff...

Guys my 06 fz1 gave me some weird noisy sound today. Sounded like from the top engine and the radiator area. Im not sure exactly but I'm hell of worried about it. Thought it could be my wheel bearings too but when i stopped the sound was still there. It did went off and came back again throughout my journey. Anyone have any idea what it could be. If not I might wanna head down to get it check. Any shop to recommend me to go, east area will be good. Thanx guys...

Tot of goin on a trip to Ayer Keroh bridge R&R next wk Juz for d fun of it.. Any1 Cn gimme a pointer or two on how to go dair n bck to spore? Juz wanna hv a few blast on my bike so tot of goin dair hv lunch n make my way bck to spore.. Nd pointers on Whr to hv a short stop to pump petrol b4 reaching d R&R n Whr cn I make a U-turn to head bck to spore n stuffs.. I think would b better to make d U-turn then head for d R&R so aftr dat cn make my way back to spore..

basically if u r going from 2nd link and setting off from GP esso, u will just follow the E3 highway till the end where u will pass 2 tolls (FOC), then u will see the signboard that says going to Melaka or KL and just go all the way straight for around 200km (on your meter) then u will reach Melaka area... look out for the A&W R&R signboard and turn in... have you lunch, top up petrol, then u-turn back... same route back...

 

if it is your first long distance ride, perhaps you would like to do a pit stop at the middle of the journey into any R&R for some rest... then continue your journey... it should be pretty straight forward...

u had to pass that bridge, exit at the next exit (i forgot the name) but it was like ard 5km away... then pass the toll, u-turn, then come back to the bridge and into the r&r...

Dont worry. You cant get lost on north south highway. If you ever get lost, thats part and parcel of touring. ^_^

hehehhehheh....During my newbie days, I ever get lost in KL and had difficulty finding ways out. Their 1 big lane can suddenly split into 5 small lanes. Wahaha.. Amazing! Even now, i still get lost. But with a GPS, not much problem going out liao

Decided to go to Ayer Keroh R&R ytd.. Thks to Ur help I reach d plc.. Hahah.. Told distance covered ard 443km.. Went wit tenere660 n a AfricanTwin.. Saw alot of sg bikes over at Pagoh R&R..

Ordered Trax topcase wit it's adapter n rack for my FZ6N on end of feb n it came 3 mths ltr.. Was abt to get it fix onto my bike wen realized by d mech dat d rack cnt b fix to my bike. Wen bck to d shop n we look bck at d catalog to c if Dey hv ordered d wrong 1 bt found dat Dey did nt. Email d new local distributor plus SW-Motech abt it. Aftr sending n receiving emails for almost 2 wks,finally found out dairs no rack for my model bike..
