wat do u mean by swivel the bike on its side stand? :cheeky:

Grab the handle bars, lean the bike towards your body, until both wheels or a rear wheel comes off the ground, entire weight of bike on side stand, and you just point the bike in the direction you want. instead of reversing/go-forward/30-point turn of the bike.

I've seen it on youtube somewhere, but done on an R1 or R6.

I think if the CG of the bike is quite high, quite difficult to do this (although i've personally never tried it. good trick for the shorties to handle their big bikes)

cheers

Hey there bikey, thanks man. But i will definitely be using the machine often, it's a daily commute, and in future JB to SG (30kms+ one way, 60km per day, or 300+km per week)

I don't mind spending slightly more to ensure the bike meets my needs, the regular commute, occasional long-distance and it's a safe ride (ABS).

well its really hard to do a comparison on this 2 bikes... its more on the preference of individuals or budget constraint... as most of the other factors are really very close... comfortable cruising speed for fz6 will be around region of 130-150 anything more will make the engine pretty noisy, while s4 i think the comfort zone for cruising will be around 110-120. if u go for long distance freq, i will recommend u get a fz as there is high windshield. it makes a hell lot of difference.

Thanks. That's nice to know that everyone has more or less that problem of reversing a bike while seated.

some swivel the bike on its side stand to add mobility of the bike. wonder if that's possible for the FAZER, any guys done that on the side stand?

For me the height is not really a issue, but the footrest is abit in the way, kind of irritating if u are reversing seated on bike. I wont recommend u to swivel this bike, as i notice fz6 side stand is pretty fragile and its not light. in compare to my old R6, the side stand is relatively thinner than current wan but its more sturdy than this side stand.

thou u cant swivel on side stand, but u can swivel on main stand. haha dats wat i do now! its more sturdy. :thumb:

The last I heard, after adding in insurance and sh!t, an OTR FZ1 should go for about 21+ to 22K+. This is of course higher than what I paid for, which is 19K+ OTR back in mid 2008. But that was before the economy went to pieces and the USD and Yen took a hot iron up the ass and shot up.

Your lower fairing.... we're talking about FULL fairings right, and not just the belly pan.... should cost over $1K for sure. So if you factor that in it should hit 23+ to 24K.

i paid mine 19k+ OTR also for my 09 FZ1 non-ABS, so i guess the price is more or less there

Thanks for that info.

How much more expensive is the Revo to the FZ6 S2 ABS 09?

i was quoted SGD 14.2k for the FZ6 S2 ABS 09 (correct me if i'm wrong)

if i'm not wrong, the ABS model should b 08' model.

 Road to Endless Destination is still burning.

i used to rode this bike Revo. but hunger for a little more ponnies so decided to trade in for a fazer. engine is of course smoother but seems a bit dull in power delivery.better resale value than other brand if you get a honda.Everybody knows honda bike are more expensive than other brand in same catergory available in the market. So more everybody is talking about fazer being phased out soon from now.For honda revo it's just the beginning. Another option is the XJ6 diversion. newly launched but 1k plus more expensive than fazer6.

XJ6 is highly recommended in the UK's Bike magazine.Editors loved the bike so much that they published an article on it. At one part, they even mentioned XJ6 is better than the Fazer 600.

How true..?

and one more thing i had heard from a friend after i bought a yammie.... i think it was true.Yammies bike had has the highest sum for insurance compared to other brands, cheapest insurance was then suzuki.

the biggest contributor to the increase of insurance was due to the high accident rates of yamaha's smaller capacity bike...

XJ6 is better in which the torque comes in earlier than fz6. other than that dont it as a better replacement model to the fz6.

bro i checked with Leo Vince, they don't have the headers for FZ6...

hmmm... mostly when you buy a after-market pipe for fz6, it would usually comes with y-pipe, this had already removed the 1st catalyst right? wad i would suggest is, go tong out the 2nd catalyst in the header, i think this way is more than enough... :)

history

I've been riding a phantom for 2 years now, and i'm on my way to get my class 2. I've also have some long-distance experience, rode my phantom to malacca twice and to KL once (three ass breaking moment, don't ask why).

ass breaking... i think almost all bikes will let you have this feeling... jus the difference in the distance traveled... i jus came back frlom phuket... a 1820km ass breaking feeling... i swear i'll do something to the seat before my next trip! o_O

but bro, if u are thinking about to and fro from KL max, it is really good enough... jus b4 your ass is to break... :D
