So far, the ony GPS that SE phones is W760i. However, do look out for C905 and X1 which is coming out in Q4 this year. C905 should be coming in Oct and X1 maybe even earlier

From what I understand, the GPS are only free for 3months. Subsequently there will be charges.

Ive bought a W7601 not too long ago, but whenever I uses GPS, the phone ALWAYS link to GPRS. I had tried to disabled it, but to no avail. At last gave up and sold off my W760i.

Thanks for the info there. What i understand Sony do have a new model with GPS built in but i can't recall what model. Maybe what you mentioned is one of the model i guess. Wah, 3 months only then after that charge like not worth it. Unlike the Nokia 6610 Navigator, all the while it is free. Hmmmm, i guess need to reconsider liow.

Nonetheless, I still prefer SE phones than Nokia. Used to hold an N82, but dun quite like the functions, so sold off (again.....) Will be looking forward to the C905 cos of its camera. As for GPS for mobile phones, I kinda gave that up , just buy a GPS....

Well, i strongly agreed with you. SE sound will always be the best compare to the rest. Errr, bro check with you any GPS that able to use while riding bike. I mean with a earpice would be better than viewing it??

A-AN 07 > SE phones I can still give a few feedbacks. As for standalone GPS not quite sure. Am quite new to GPS actually. What I can say is if only hear the voices, not very accurate . Cos the satellites needs a sec or two to really pin point your position. If your vehicle is moving, it isnt accurate immediately. Recently bought a standalone GPS for my car. Depended alot more on the images rather than the voice.

phatmonsta > Frankly im not too sure about it though.

Thanks bro for the clearance!!! I agreed that sometimes you may want to be pampered on the road while traveling so, GPS will save you alot of hassle. No need for you to stop by the road side just to open your street directory. Actually i would prefer viewing then listening but sometimes i wonder issit leagal to have a GPS set for riders like us??

i am using a w760i. the internal gps antenna kinda suck. it wont work under a roof. hence cant really use in a car. bike still ok.

as for connect to gprs, is due to the app. like google maps, the map is not stored in the phone, but on the internet. therefore when you move around, the phone needs to download the maps. so must pay for the gprs usage.

but you can install trekbuddy or something which can store the maps in the phone dir.

Well, i agree with you that this kinda device hardly work under a roof. It is because the satelite unable to track that device. You mentioned that with bike still ok, have you try it before while riding?? If yes, how is the instruction given via your earpice?? Meaning is it clear & accurate enough for you to understand??? Possible to explain further your experience. many thanks in advance.
