1) now, it doesnt matter whether he has wat lic. What matters 1st is, is his name in the insurance for the bike? Your indo friend riding on your bike w/o the insurance, will get you into deep trouble, bike compound and lose your lic.

Get his lic converted at TP. Then apply to have his name in the bike insurance.

2) as above if name not in insurance. both of you get charge in court.

he say u give permission, you will kenna the worst case scenario as in pt 1.

he say no permission, you may still kenna depending on IO, and he will kenna extra charge of theft of vehicle.

3) fine amt in region of $800 to over 1k, depending on wat charge or charges you getting + court case (as in pt 1 or pt 2).

4) my advise, dun play play. want to ride, do it right. get into trouble for nothing... and a serious trouble in this case. Spend $20-30 to add name in insurance is worth it, rather than wat you'll get in pt 1,2 and 3 right?

Jail i'm not too sure.. But from what i know if you wanna convert from an indo license to a SG license he must stay in SG for more then 6 months before converting.

For that i only know that once caught will have a fine.. Worst is fine + ban.

u will lose ur license for sure

there is no second option here

insurance is a very highlighted issue

no insurance = revoke & ban for at least 1 yr

as for ur bike, it mite get impounded

cars work differently from bikes.

as long as car have valid insurance and rd tax, anyone with a valid car SG lic can drive the car.

Its not the license. Its the insurance cover

Oh.. i see. Anyone can show a few sentences of your bike insurance clause? I read the car's one. i rented a car and they left the contract there. It wrote something like that, cover anyone with valid licence and with permission of owner.

As for mine (only person insured) from NTUC, it reads

"5. Persons or Classes of Persons entitled to drive*

(a) The Policyholder."

"The Policy does not cover

(a) Use for hire or reward."

I quoted the parts which I think is important in your case. Insurance is very very important, since bikers are always in danger. Biker = Flesh protect metal. Car = Metal protect flesh. Thus the need of insurance. Hope that helps. I think for more info, you can approach LTA or insurance companies la. They are more farmiliar with the vehicle codes of Singapore.

This scenario only have 2 outcomes depending on how you reported it.

1) You reported you dunno about it - so technically your friend stole your bike and ride without licences - he will be jailed with all official offences and all license stripped off. (nothing will happen to you cause you don't know about it.)

2) You reported you know he took your bike without license, both license stripped off + motorcycle confiscated

But of cause, the investigation team will wan to know more in-dept about how your friend without license has your key and etc etc..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...
