I've been encountering draggy pickup for quite a while lately. Feels the same even after an oil change. At 100km/h my engine is like screaming already. I even notice that eventhough my bike speedo is at 100km/h, it seems that other riders/drivers can overtake me with ease and less stress on their engine.

Is it becoz of clutch Plate or valve clearence? My bike is an FQ plate Version S with a tong header and Micron pipe. I look ridiculous when riding at 100km/h becoz of this coz it sounded like i was going at 160km/h

The last time i remember changing clutch plate is mayb ard 2yrs back when i bought the bike. Is it due already? Recently went to a few bikeshop. Some say clutch plate..some say valve clearance..top overhaul..etc :giddy:

Can anyone pls explain how to tell if the power loss is due to the clutch plates or valve clearence. What are the symptoms?

Any experts out there can give advice on wats the prob or recommend a really gd and honest mech to to give advice on this?

Desperate..

Thanks

Bro does you bike accelerate like an auto transmission car?. If yes then clutch slip means need to change clutch:thumb. As for valve clearance,look/hear out for clicking or ticking sound from the cylinder head cover.:thumb:

How does an auto transmission car accelerate like? Sorry bro but i'm abit unsure on what u mean by that

There is ticking sound that can be heard even after warm up. Must be the valve clearance has gone off. But how does improper clearance affect the bike performance? Will there be any damages to other parts if i'll ignore doing valve clearance?

btw tks for the reply bro..

When you open up the throttle(with clutch lever release),rpm goes up but the speed stays awhile and catch up abit later.Abit like auto scoots.

Improper clearance dont cause much damage just the irritating ticking noise, but it does affect peformance ,because the timing of the intake and exhaust valve opening is not up to the specs.

Price wise for valve clearance job is about above 150SGD,depends on which shop you go. Yours is an FQ Ver S,i think its best for you to change the cylinder head gaskets and O-ring bolt seals.

This is just a guideline bro best is to go bikeshops and ask the mech opinion. Planet,Unique, bikeworks and etc.
