Hi guys, i need some advice. this morning i just passed my tp at cdc. now i'm wondering what bike to get, how much is e insurance, road tax, coe etc. I'm 19 waiting for ns anyway.

going NS den dun bother wasting money... wait till your posted to your unit den go buy.. during BMT your bike will be sitting there to rust..

 

considering u can ride your bike the most 1 day a week.. the money u are gg to pay is not worth it i feel..

 

road tax and insurance all depends on the bike, ur age, alot of factors.. so there is no fixed amount..

 

but if ur looking at sports bike, ur insurance should be quite ex, about $700+ at least.. considering ur age..

already took 19yrs old public transport, take another 3-4 mths should be ok ba, considering the amount u saved while your in bmt, 3mths road tax, 3mths parking, 3mths insurance..

road tax around 40 bucks for sportsbike (sp krr)

season parking 15 - 17, depending how high class your parking

insurance around 700

coe is subjected to changes, but around 1k

Yes around 2k for your case... people who say bike are cheap.. its not really that cheap also..

so for NS.. just get a basic bike.. cheap to maintain.. etc..

depends on your budget alot as well.. and if possible dun commit to a super long loan if your not sure about your income.. and NS, unless your officer.. else u can forget about a very fancy bike...

 

there are a couple of cheap bikes costing about $500 -$800.

i got my yamaha rxk 135 for $500 only..

 

good enough for starters.. get a feel of riding den once start working and earn more can get a bike you really want.. rather den getting a bike u really want and love but cannot afford it... everyday eat bread...

if say practical la u get cub better coz ns pay not much n u seldom ride also..

 

but if u love sportbikes or scrams etc etc then u ride cub also dun feel happy right? ride the bike u like of cos more happy then ride one that u dun like..

i agree totally with Shinsou. ride a bike u really like, not something you wanna tide over with. if cant get/afford what you want, dont buy.

like for my case, i prefer rvf over cbr, cos of both external and internal, i die die also aim rvf, and for now, although abit shiong, im very happy with my bike. different ppl different perception for bikes. you think it thru yourself..

but i'll still strongly suggest u wait till after your bmt period, then you get your bike, more worth the money, rather than parking at ur carpark during that period rusting..

most ogk are abit on the heavy side.. cushion also easily get soft..

 

consider shoei or arai or agv(nice!)

 

if want value for money i think rjays is superb value for money.. the interior material abit like suede.. very smooth and nice.. but dunno about how quiet it is.. have to ask others..

 

but i wun highly recommend ogk helmets..
