I think getting a Givi bracket and box may be cheaper....

Confirmed from ppl @ Piaggio Centre that both X8 & mp3 box are the same but the brackets are not. Furthermore you'll have to order coz they don't keep stock. Thought of transfering my ex X8 box onto my mp3 but they don't just sell the bracket.... funny !!!

But someone did told me that someplace else does the bracket thing to fix the box but heck, I'm not that interested anyway now though .......

Top box will block the 'boot' of the MP3 right?

unless we mount it really high; then kinda silly lah ...

guess if in it's original box n bracket,it should be able to open the 'boot' after the box is flip up just like x8.

all in all i felt the original top box sell quite reasonably at $600 including the bracket. I met a MP3 guy whom he went to fabricate his own bracket for around $350 and mount with a Maxia box which cost him another $200. Hmm...coming back to the same.

in my own opinion, i would rather spend $50 buck more and get everything original...in fact, an MP3 is some sort of a high end status machine, why spoil the overall looks just to save $50.

...my 2 cents though.... :cheeky:

Yeah, agree with ah ray that it won't be a hindrance to open the back lid with the top box on. My X8 had that feature but I chose not to fit a box on my mp3 because it was a bit of a hassle to tilt the top box and then open the back lid. I don't remember doing it...

Yes I've seen 2 airport policemen in flourescent vests riding 2 mp3s out from T3 yest. They were riding white mp3s. Just like the one in bro Sufie's signature. I was like "Wow!"

Posted

Wow.... I would prefer mp3 in white.... Kinda outstanding..... If they are @ T3, I might as well check 'em out coz airport is just say 5-7 mins away...

Went for 2nd servicing & check-up at Piaggio Service Centre.... Yahoo, it was free..... Waited for close to an hour and got my bike back. Few ppl were there enquiring abt my bike.... one guy even wanted to try the test bike but apparently, the test bike wasn't there.... but there was this black mp3 125 parked without licence plate though..... it was exactly the same as my 250 except for the cc lable....

New question on the road; "if one tyre is punctured, will you be able to still ride the mp3"

amusing. i'd reply that even for vehicles with 4 wheels, if one tyre is punctured, can't drive properly until changed.

He who hesitates is lost!

Yah, I think so, but should be more than able to limp to a bikeshop if it was really necessary.

But I think in the worst case scenario of a tyre blow-out, the chances of total loss of control is much reduced compared to a conventional 2 wheeler.

Let's ponder a little bit more deeper guys.... What could happen if a total blow-out of one of the 2 front tyre occurs?

Tried pumping air on all 3 tyres according to manual i.e. 1.8 bar front, 2.4 bar rear (rider and passenger)..

Doesn't seem to be good coz bike rolls quite a lot around corners. Will be adjusting according to my preferance instead.

Anyway, saw one grigio excalibur mp3 with top box riding at holland V....
