The front part of the Mp3 400 is not as deep as the 250 but it has an additional 12v socket which the 250 dont..love the 400 but the weight and the high fuel consumtion is something to consider before getting a Mp3 400.

I am considering the MP3 125. I have called the Piaggio showroom to arrange for a test ride. Hopefully I get the appointment soon. :)

It has been exciting rounding up various brands/models before my purchase in October. :cheeky:

Why don't you give a thought on the 250cc? I once met a 125cc rider in his late 50s at Piaggio Centre and his 125 had this clacketty sound. He was worried but the personnel from Piaggio reassured him that it's normal coz it's a 125. The 250 sound more refine. I don't know about the 400cc though. Furthermore, the price of the 125 is just a tad lower compared to the 250.

I agree with you 100%. If only I have class 2A license. :cheeky: Alternatively, I buy a cheaper bike and upgrade next year.

Hopefully the 125 is ok on the highway though.

Sufie, you riding a 250cc?? How's the pickup when fully-loaded with pillion and other cargo? How much is the cruising RPM at 80,90,100 km/hr??

Went to view the MP3 400 this morning.Look more solid than 250 maybe due to the bigger rear wheel and slightly longer wheelbase. It cost about $14,200 to $14,300 OTR. As for storage space its shallower than 250 but we can always fit the rear box.

I was keen on the 400cc too but I feel that my 250 will do fine since there are a few factors about the 400 that is preventing me from getting it. It's just like something is not right about the 400. Just my opinion....

Something not like, for example??

As for me I am holding out for as long as I can before getting the 400. Maybe by that time they may bring in the 500cc (very unlikely).About 20 units of 400 is arriving at our shore soon.

This model is not proven in Sgp. yet as it is here for less than a year, I mean the front suspension system. As for the engine I'm not worry as it is similar to the other piaggio scooters like the X8. Also my current bike (vfr) is only 3 years young. But I am itching for the MP3. Must tahan first lah.

Same lah... my Burgman 400 is also 3 years young... and mechanically still functioning well... haiz, endure!

I totally agree with you. What we can fall back on are reviews from websites, staff from Piaggio Centre or someone who is riding it. Kinda like if you embark on buying it, you are somewhat like a guinea pig. A test run for fellow bikers to gain information from. As for me, so far I'm still happy with my bike. My greatest worry are my front suspensions. I hope they won't give me problems. I think with regular servicing, the bike should be fine.

I had test rode one MP3 250 and I am impressed with the suspension.

Normally scooters' suspension are rather soft to have the comfort.

But I was surprised when I accidently CHIONG (rush) one regular hump and the bike took it without any problem. It did not bottom.:thumb: Just like my XR400. Still felt stable.

The front suspension is made up of 2 individual strong assemblies. I feel that it will be rather lasting or at least if it fails either side, u will only need to change one only.

I find that the pressures of all 3 tyres plays an important role. I tried a few pressures within 1 to 3 psi and it makes a lot of difference. Right now the suspension feels good...

juz a curious question.. for sure the mp3 would not buang no matter hw much u tilted the bike wen conering??

I would think that at some point in time you will still buang, but you have to be trying very, very hard to buang on purpose to do that....

The mp3 is designed to be able to take corner to a certain extent such that both front tyres are still on the ground. The front suspensions are capable to still hold the bike on the road. But imo, if you try to go beyond the degree of cornering, it will still 'buang'. But how low you can go on this bike is really a question. You've gotta try it for yourself but for me, I'm pretty much happy that I can take corner just like my previous X8. But I did hear of an mp3 rider who 'buanged' at mscp.....
