U can ask your friend to try getting it from private sellers in the sale thread. There are quite a number of them selling and some are really in good condition and reasonably priced.

Actually when I 1st get my bike, I keep my speed below 100km/h all the time and I get a FC of 220-230km. Then I tried to go at 100-110km/h. Surprisingly mileage increase... Something which I find weird... All other factors not changed at all - same Shell V-power, tyre pressure maintained, no change to jetting, EO, air filter etc.

my bike 12 years old FN plate. with slight factory jet. 250 hit reserve den finish at 310.

stock bike also cant get that fc. maybe u are right abt the downsize of main jets and also he is a very relax rider.

it's a recommended HRC mod.

 

Basically at higher RPMs, the engine is starved of petrol.

 

So doing this mod,enables petrol to still flow at a more continous rate to mantain your power at higher RPMs.

 

This is what i think it roughly does.

Previously mine fully stock can hit 250 b4 reserve also. Max I tried 290 and I think it was nearly all empty already then. 320 is a bit unbelievable...

Mine is RS as well.. Checked my log card..

 

I think no different enginewise or performance wise.

My bike's mileage before reserve was 210-220.

 

After i slapped on the Laser endcan, i was lucky to get 180-190 max..

This is what i think it roughly does.

The fuel tap uses suction created from the engine to regulate the flow of fuel by a diaphram like a valve. ie. High rev = higher suction created = bigger opening => more flow. But the problem is that at top end, the suction created by the engine is not large enough to allow a high enough fuel flow. The mod is to dismantle the fuel tap then take out the diaphram. Can DIY but will be very messy cos fuel from the tank will leak all over once you dismantle the tap from the tank.

Regarding the RR, RS, and RT designation, I believe there's this particular sticker at the rear compartment that states it. Or maybe I'm wrong?

I think this has to do with the bhp restriction regulation. Since the production specified the bhp to be restricted to 53bhp, there are sure to have a few deliberate design incorporated in the bike to restrict it. For example, speed cut at 180km/h, rpm restricter using stock CDI, baffle in stock exhaust, smaller carb as compared to VFR400. So probably this fuel tap thingy is one component also. Cos since you are restricted to 180km/h, you won't be requiring the high fuel flow which means it doesn't matter.

 

HRC manual recommends modification to make our bike better for TRACK purposes, therefore is relatively unrelated to road usage.
