Correct. Try to listen see where the sound comes from. How much you paid for the overhaul?

Exactly my point!

Which bikeshop will do overhaul for free dude??

sub zero maybe u can pm the address of ur bike shoop.. thanks..

go K&T... Think subzero also go there... Clifford is very experienced with our bike.

I agree with Subzero & ArthLine regarding free overhaul. If previously your crankshaft & conrods got problem, the overhaul is gonna cost over 2k. I don't think any shop would so good to not charge at all. Probably the shop did something to try to fix it temporary such that the sound will soften for a while.

Overhaul they will strip the engine then check the bearing, piston, conrod etc for damages. Damaged then change. But if I'm not wrong, all the seals will be changed.

Old bike sure have some problem due to previous owner's negligence. True, RVF was said to have rectifier problem but if you don't do funny things to your electrical system, it'll work out fine.

Well, at least I have a different reason that stopped me from joining the outing. At least some of you know why.

something happened to my bike just now.

i was on my way to JB in the afternoon arnd 1300hrs. just as i was approaching Nee Soon flyover, my bike suddenly died. totally died! [R]ider [V]ery [F]cuked liao. tried to push start but to no avail. push all the way to nee soon flyover. called my "bike-bulance", melvin. (thanks bro!) he came down half an hour later. first he suggested maybe the fuse blow. change with spare still the same. den LUCKILY he got some tools, a multi-purpose tool and a jacknife. opened up my side fairing, was shocked to see that 3 of the wires actually fused together. sianz. cut away the wires and rewire again. boxed up everything again and waited for the rain to stop at the flyover.

rain stopped. pushed start.. can liao! go to sengkang petrol station to top up, try electric start can liao!

:cheer:

moral of the story: always bring a tool kit with u!
