yeah they can.. why not just email them? i actually emailed them enquiring how much is it to rebuild the rear shock and it was.. er.. i forgot (but i know its less than 300) to do so. maybe its more worth buying some aftermarket shock? hmm.

i doubt you should go ah boy to repair this. why not wait till monday to get it done? i actually had a spoilt switch (well the hi-low beam switch, it got burnt out due to incorrect bulb used) that time and was riding with only the 2 front signal lights on for a few days.. i doubt you will have points, and if you tell them you just got the bike.. i doubt they will fine you.. no choice mah.. just ride carefully for today and go get it done tmr lor.. most shops can do it.. but i support k&t lah! :D

if its the hi-low beam switch (it affects the headlights) that is spoilt, its only 60bucks if you buy from FJT, but labour charge is another thing... bulbs are cheap.. but i recommend you to try to get the original ones, which cost like 20+ per bulb? it lasts longer and is the correct voltage so that it wont burn out again..

hey, actually you can get 'yoshimura' 'racing' footpegs from LAB for rvf, so i think the racing boy ones can fit with some modifications... anything can be done! lol.

Frankly,i've used the Racing Boy rearsets on my ex-KRR.They are not as strong as Yoshimura's.Now,i've been using Yoshi rearsets for my RVF for a while. They are much, much better. If i'm not mistaken, bought from LAB for $170.But JB Ah gua lane also selling. For around 240RM.

darn, i meant the rear set

thought you could see what i mean from my post heh

and yes the 'yoshi' rearsets are much stronger, but actually amba, why you want to change? want better posture? or too fierce and you scrape the footpegs alot? o_O

if you notice from motorcyclelane, that guy just did a bracket to push back and raise the whole original rearset, maybe you wana try that?

the riding posture feels like riding rxk wit legs wide open

i want the footpegs to go further back and higher

i scraped my current footrest till the sliders on the footpegs broke off and scraped the footpegs as well.

yoshi ones are stronger. defenitely but they are normally shorter than the racing boy ones. i have noticed sp racing boys bend in to the bike after long use.

i need to do more research on the length.

Hi guyz,

Friday nite's meet-up was really great. Got to meet some of you guyz at long last. Throughly enjoyed myself. I'm definitely looking forward to the next ride. :thumb:

Eh, for your info, I flunk my IPPT. :faint: It was the 2.4 that did me in. Damn! Time for some real track time. On the Running track i mean!! Lolx.

On the subject of the LAB (Lim Ah Boy) Yoshi Rearsets and Footpegs. They do fit the NC35 and are dirt cheap in comparison to Moriwakis which cost more than twice the price. If you do crash, they're alot cheaper crashing on. Haha.

Just some observations. The LAB rearsets are designed at only one position. Well, if you like the position, good on you. If you don't, the bike could end up being your Jap S&M torture rack! Think long rides. Lolx. Now get the picture? The pegs on the LAB rearset is short too. Try it, you'll understand afterwards. :goodluck:

If you're asking the age old question. "Is the LAB Yoshi rearset real/original?" Once and for all, do yourself a favour. Take a look at the link. Now, You decide..

Yoshimura Rearset

If you can accept LAB's package and it works for you, fine. If you're not satisfied, there's no obligation to buy. But please (x100) to save yourself from embarrassment! Don't ever ask him if they are real or imitation. WHAT YOU PAY IS WHAT YOU GET. For that kind of price, Don't wind and complain like a F**king S'porean in JB. :slapforehead:

Back to the heart of the problem. Many NC35 riders have experienced bad footpegs clearance. Fitting aftemarket rearsets and adding jackup brackets for the rearset are some of the solutions to the problem (as Filbert mentioned). If you're getting aftermarket rearsets, remember to check if they provide a bracket to fit the rearbrake lighting footswitch. Some of them don't come with it, as they are for meant race use.

But could the REAL problem be due to old, shagged out suspensions? The rearsets will only help you keep the pegs from scrapping the tarmac. But handling wise, the corner isn't gona feel any much more better. For your safety, your life and enjoyment and the bike's life, please fix up your shocks if you need to. :help:

Thanx guyz, just some advice from the heart. I'm sorry if I sounded a little loud. Do feel free to contribute any interesting and relevant info and experiences with the rearsets. Afterall, we're all here to learn. :thumb:

actually, i agree with you on the part on the old 'shagged' out suspension. remember guys, if your suspension gets soft, when someone like me or amba (we're both quite heavy yes?) get on, the bike IS lower. especially when you corner low.

i dont usually scrape the footpegs, but if i have pillion and i go to 99, most prob i'll end up scraping it

imo, i find the stock rearsets adequate for singapore roads/corners, the most i'll just have to lean off abit to reduce the lean of the bike. it is a lil low thou, but im not complaining, the moriwakis are just too expensive, and i wont pay for the 'chiong' ones you get from LAB.

oh yeah mel, dont worry.. i failed mine last year cause of running too :D

is it illegal to install an oxygen sensor on bike exhaust pipe? it gives a reading and has nothing to do with speed, acceleration and excessive emission. it actually helps for tuning to improve emission

AHHH~~! SOme SeriOUS discusiions going on at last....

Ok peepz...

On the issue of The 'racing' footpegs ..... If u are a corner freak, scrapes the OEM footpegs on every turns and corners possibly imaginable, even turning into your carpark will oso scrape then get it changed out.

Now if you are a buang king..better to get the premuim goods from ah boy..like Mel said Cheaper to crash on.

Now if you are richer than average, dun mind crashing a EX as hell rearsets and value the pose factor then get the Moriwakis.

Personally paying $700 for a pair of footpegs is beyond me. $300 tops if i were to spend on a aftermart one. S'long as it serves its pupose as elevated Footpegs.

On the Issue of the suspension...er...for as long as i could remember since riding the NC35, my knowlege of the rear shocks is that it cannot be rebuilt. once spoilt, have to change. Iz stated in 400greybikes i think....your ever helpful 400cc bikes link. I think Haynes manual oso says the same thing.

On the issue of failing IPPT and doing track time. I think iz good to excercise our body once in awhile and not spend too much of our god given time on bikes. There are more impt things in life than bikes, seriously like the health of our body. Besides...excercising regularly can help increase stamina.....VITAL FOR THE REAL TRACK doing laps. MotoGP riders train by excercising when they are off the circuits...if not how to last a gruelling 20+ Laps with 100% concentration?

:cheer:

You Tailgate, I Jam Brake!

To Eliminate that False sense of achievement , Pick on bikes your own c.c.

Hi Fire ufo, Shawn--, Blackice

Guyz, on behalf of the RVF guyz on the thread, just like to extend a wam V4 welcome to the NC35 family. Hope the info and past discussions will be of help. Free feel to join in anytime.

The PGM4 is using a proarm, so is the VFR400, 750's & 800, RVF750 and the NSR150SP as well. If you're talking about Honda's more recent models. During the late 90's RC45(RVF750) Race Teams dumped the pro-arm. They went back to the standard dual swingarm. One of the main reasons was to reduce weight (heavy). The added advantage of being fast wheel changes for endurance teams didn't matter too. As new technology was available for a reliable quick-release device on dual swingarms.

Thanx Filbz, for the IPPT consolation. Hee~

Shay, you're right. Health is wealth! The best weight reduction is the rider's. Hee~ No puns intended. :D

Cheerioz,

Sandman
