RVF Newbie Outing

(Laojiaos are strongly encouraged to attend as well)

 

Lately, we have an influx of new members who have just bought their RVF's.

There are also members that will be selling their beloved V4 soon.

Lots of people have been asking for outings so let's get the ball rolling!

This outing will be held in the beginning of June in the evening. There will be a place for newbies (and laojiaos) to meet and eat, then sip kopi as we discuss about our V4's, and everything under the sun as well.

 

There will be a photo session too if the turnout looks good. And it'll be done with a camera that's not el-cheapo. Rounding around Singapore will be expected after the meetup too.

First and foremost I need to know when is the best time for the meetup.

I have proposed a few dates for all of you to vote from:

 

May 31 Saturday or June 7 Saturday

 

(feel free to suggest other dates as you see fit...)

 

Location wise, it'll be a combination of these, not in order.

Routes may be added/removed as we so decide.

 

Meetup: Marina Bay Old Seafood Restaturant or Kallang KFC (near the former Nat'l stadium).

 

After-meetup rounding (and maybe toilet) stops:

1. Changi Beach (CP opposite the freight centre)

2. Yasir Restaurant (Serangoon Rd, near Boon Keng MRT)

3. Lau Pa Sat

4. and of course, Selatar Dam (aka. Yishun Dam)

 

The aim of bringing you guys to these locations is to show the public our V4 stronghold. But no speeding pls! Too many TeePee's around at night.

i guess cos he loves his bike alot ma, under warrenty also, so must faster fix up everything lo! rvf lover is like this de..... must make sure the bike is in perfect condition. abit abit cannot liao! u just now park at cine ar? i think i saw ur bike when i am at the escalator going up 4th floor, i looked through the glass and saw one rvf parking at the carpark's pavement with one

small space for very limited bikes to park, u? lol

 

btw i think i saw guanwei's bike outside i-motoring too although i din saw the person. must be inside the shop going to purchase some racing stuffs for his bike!!! lol

i also try not to wear slippers when riding.. if not have to make sure the slippers straps r on the lever so leg wont pain.. lolx..

YUp yup!! FC too jia lat so decided to do some service.

Factory jet + 1 coolant pipe leaking change o ring and duno wat casket + wash carb/tune + he help me take away 1 duno wat wire from trottle say more smooth like fast trottle total - $340

About K&T and Clifford, they're really honest-to-goodness people.

 

They're there for a purpose -- to rectify and fix problems with bikes that are malfunctioning. You may say that all other bikeshops do the same thing, but along with his team of mechs, he knows what is needing fixing, and also gives other "change that part too" suggestions based on what he sees may prove unhealthy for our V4's in the long run.

 

Kudos to his team of mechs...hope they'll learn a lot under Mr C's leadership.

 

Being on the same topic, other bikeshops have fly-by-night mechanics. Through hearsay gossip from others and by looking at my bike's replaced parts, these other bikeshops either overcharge, assume and change the wrong things, use unapproved parts, dangerously substitute parts with something else (eg. newspaper instead of gaskets, car coolant pipes instead of original bike ones).

Luck forbid if they ever cut wires or purposely damage parts to make you come back...

 

As of recent, they've finished up my bike's heat problems. He even explained the reason why having a thermostat onboard is redundant in tropical Singapore.

 

It's an expensive couple hundred dollars for me but heck, if this is what brings my V4 back to normal, I wouldn't mind parting a chunk of money for this.

 

P.S.: A piece of advice. Give bikeshops ample time to diagnose and fix up your bike.
