a few wks ago i saw a rvf at race werks doing servicing....it has carbon fibre gpr pipe....jus wanna noe if the owner is here? cos the pipe damn loud and fierce xia...i wanna noe how he did it so i can do it too...lol

Price range i think should be almost 24k-26k? canot be like 30k ma.

already repaired long ago. but that time it was like after 5days later then i bring to bike shop coz i duno what is wrong. I oni smell burning smell after that slowly my volt like got problem, keep dropping.. 5days later i notice that my volt dropped till 8, i faster send my bike for check up liao.

Rectificer Burned. And already replaced.

So when u smell burning smell from your seats, mostly likely is rectificer burned.

I changed mine for $65 n was told it's rec for RVF.

 

After that then i found out it should be rec for S4 coz original for RVf rec wont be so cheap. 1 of page got show u how to identified original rec. but u gonna slowly find. way long back.

 

Depend on whether ur batt need to be change. coz mine still working fine. so i did not change.

Best rect is GSXR400 original rect..But needs some cable tying to fix it on..Recommend by friends for my PGM 4 last time after the original rect got fried..

 

End up using a S4 rect on my PGM 4, good also..Comes with heatsink which isnt found on my original rect..

rvf original rectifier cost more. but S4 rectifer is cheaper and last longer. comes with heatsink as well. just had mine change last week also.

I wasn't so lucky lately...

 

The night before my problematic day, I plucked out a faulty bulb and took out my IU. That day itself, I rode to Esso near my home and while I was riding, I smelt something burning... smelt like electric wires and plastic when they burn and melt -- but thought it came from the cupkia beside me.

 

Stopped by the air pump machine, filled up my tyres, and flipped the key to ON. When i pressed the starter, the bike gave a "click" sound, and all lights went out. Had I been stranded somewhere far away, my day would have been made worse

 

What happened: Electric connections to the rectifier and starter relay melted.

 

Fault: Old wires and wire harnesses + the fact that several bikeshops before me (maybe prev owner) went to haphazardly splinter and wire-taped the wires at one area just to when they did the previous rectifier change.

 

What was changed: All wiring, starter relay, rectifier.

 

Expensive? You don't wanna know the price

Yeah, and you see, that's the problem with some biker groups.

And to add on, did you know that lately, I've been hearing so many people commenting about our group... usually in the lines of "the people who mostly ride RVF's are usually those beng -types, rude ones."

 

This is feedback gathered from curious people that I've went on mini-trips with, as well as some comments gathered from other sources.

I have no idea where they got this information from, nor do I know why they said that, but to say our group is bad is definitely the pot calling the kettle black...

 

Fufu, with that said, why don't you be their god-father. Maybe sweeten the R1 thread a little with your humour?
