I wasn't so lucky lately...

 

The night before my problematic day, I plucked out a faulty bulb and took out my IU. That day itself, I rode to Esso near my home and while I was riding, I smelt something burning... smelt like electric wires and plastic when they burn and melt -- but thought it came from the cupkia beside me.

 

Stopped by the air pump machine, filled up my tyres, and flipped the key to ON. When i pressed the starter, the bike gave a "click" sound, and all lights went out. Had I been stranded somewhere far away, my day would have been made worse

 

What happened: Electric connections to the rectifier and starter relay melted.

 

Fault: Old wires and wire harnesses + the fact that several bikeshops before me (maybe prev owner) went to haphazardly splinter and wire-taped the wires at one area just to when they did the previous rectifier change.

 

What was changed: All wiring, starter relay, rectifier.

 

Expensive? You don't wanna know the price

rvf original rectifier cost more. but S4 rectifer is cheaper and last longer. comes with heatsink as well. just had mine change last week also.

 

erm so ur advise is to

change to S4 de rec and its better?

RVF original de not good and dun last long ar?

rvf do 5 point grounding can alr... 6 pt the other pt dunno can put where.. just did mine at clifford there...

guys i wanna ask if the manual put for headlight is H4 12V 60/35W, can i use a H4 12V 60/55W??? will it be better or worse? anybody here installed H.I.D?? thinking whether to put not... if not just change a good H4 philip bulb..
