The Ducati Xerox Team has made a decision with regard to the 2009 season of competition in the World Superbike Championship. In recent weeks Ducati Corse has reached an agreement with Noriyuki Haga who will join the Ducati Xerox Team in 2009. The thirty-three year old Japanese rider from Nagoya will be team-mate to the Italian rider Michel Fabrizio who will remain with the team for a second consecutive season.

"I am very proud to be able to welcome Noriyuki", commented Davide Tardozzi, Ducati Corse's Superbike Team Manager. "We are convinced he is one of the strongest and best loved of the Superbike riders, a talented and courageous man. He is a rider that has proved that he never gives up, in the true spirit of Ducati, and is a rider with the credentials to fill the place that Troy Bayliss vacates.

Haga will, for the first time, ride a factory Ducati, and I am certain that he will win over the Ducatisti fans and bring great satisfaction. We are very proud to have him in next year's squad together with Michel. They are two fantastic riders and we will do everything to ensure that they can achieve the great results that everyone hopes are possible."

when he was in motogp, it was the teams that he joined that couldnt make it not him. in motogp a rider needs to be in a winning team then got hopes of a podium. others will have to pray hard it rains or the main factory rider gets knocked out etc. sadly, that is Motogp which is different from WSBK.

 

if only he joined a repsol honda or fiat yamaha or marlboro ducati team...

Yamaha wasnt that successful until Rossi came along..Ducati was good becos of their machinery which ran far better than Yamaha or Honda during the 2007 season..

Anthony West Signs For Stiggy Motorsports Honda(WSS)

 

Another piece of the 2009 rider line-up jigsaw has been put in place with announcement that Anthony West, a two-time WSS race winner, will return to the class in 2008, with Johan Stigefelt's Stiggy Motorsports Honda team.

In 2004 ‘Westy' rode at Brands Hatch in a one-off outing for the Honda Team Italia Megabike squad, when he qualified 13th and finished ninth. Last year, his three rides for the Yamaha World Supersport Racing Team delivered a remarkable two wins and one third place.

Having not had a happy time in recent MotoGP rides, West is heading back to the WSS paddock for his first full season in the class and in one of the most respected teams in the paddock.

Said West, "I'm very happy to be joining the Stiggy team. Stiggy is a friend and old team-mate from 2003 in 250GP. I remember saying to him one day that he should start his own team because none of the other teams knew how to do it right, and to my surprise he did! Over the last couple of years I heard from everybody in the industry that the Stiggy team is one of the better ones in the championship. To have a team boss that knows what it's like to race and knows what racing is all about is just great! After a difficult year in MotoGP I need to race on a bike that can win, and in Supersport together with team Stiggy I can. For 2009 I have only one goal - To win! "

if any factory ducati rider, which is stoner and hayden, gets a prolonged injury for 2009, there is a CHANCE that haga could replace them on a temporary basis. like bayliss in 2006 final race, where he held 1st place from holeshot to finishing line as a replacement rider.

Kiyo is crazy...dude!! Even other SBK riders are smiling at his sliding into corners..phew...power!!!

yeah, watch out for Kiyo next year, he will be one of the guys to beat. He was new to all the circuits last year except for brands hatch and donington park which he won the double at one of them and one race at the other.
