I juz go slow n be xtra careful. Use my both legs to support if feel like falling or whenever bike fish-tailing. Other useful tip is DO NOT brake hard.

Managed to see the pics. Nice! Would be super pissed if I dropped my bike though......

tao gay, what makes u think cambodia no mud leh? Most "roads" there are actually dirt roads, which will become muddy when raining and worst if it is used frequently by trucks....that's part of the fun :cheer:

i was thinking of that too...

just need to set the dates preferably one of the weekends in feb or march after the monsoon season is over...

collect some funds for the bbq food...and distribute the load...

there we can have bbq...

anyone with 4WD or SUVs can contribute as support vehicle...

Al-Simmons>> Good idea...maybe after the monsoon seasons. Will check with my guys if they are interested for the ride too. Can check out with AJ too. Maybe we can have another meetup to discuss more about this trip.....collect the funds as well & what are the thing to bring.

Anyways..this is the one and only time that i did the ride to the 54km mark in 2001 or 2002....at that time, there is still this forum,XR-maniacs...local dirtbike forum...slackriders havent form..

we read from somebody's ride report, and decided to give a try.

We left via 1st link, thru Kota Tinggi...we left JB about midnite...

So we reached Kahang around 4am...friends with stock XR tank and KTM tank hit reserves...petrol station close...so we slept on the floor of the petrol kiosk with the bike besides us till 7am when the petrol station opens..

Guess which one is me?:cheeky:

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis05.jpg

The 1st person is me.with my XR600R

we don't have GPS.So from Kahang,we rode and overshort till we reached Mersing...it's about 8plus am.

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis03.jpg

We entered from Kampong Peta entrance.

At this point, the black XR skidded and fall...i donno how he could end up that way.

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis02.jpg

Some bridges to cross.

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis07.jpg

We just follow our instict...At that time, the terrain was bad...honestly,i

doubt big trailies can go through at the mid part of the area as there's quite few steep hills with ruts and planks to cross...seriously,it's not rideable for big trailie.

If i remember correctly,we did pass through some oil palm plantation at the early stage.

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis06.jpg

After going through series of bending steep hills with rocks, ruts, muds, wet leaves, you name it...then we reached here. And to add,at that age, riding with those few crazy guys,i don't know at what speed we we riding...you won't believe me if i tell ya...

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis01.jpg

So,to end the day.

http://www.xr-italia.com/coppermine/albums/amici/khamis04.jpg

But in recent times,i think i did read that some other dual sports bikes managed to go through, and last year,i think the vara125 gang with demon did to the 54km mark...so i believed the route to go there must have been flattened and ease for transports....

So,let's try and do it with the big trailies...:thumb:
