Now my bike started to have problem....

 

It started out of sudden...

My Idling was suddenly low...when i start in the morning...below 1k...it is not suppose to be that low...and it never when up...i start riding....halfway engine stall..quite a few time...and the bike feel weak...

 

When return home...tune the idle to make it higher...ride around...along the journey...the rpm sometimes seem slow to respond...and at times...when stopping it suddenly shoot up to 2k...and sometimes...it went down below 1k and straight away shoot up back to 1.5k(my ideal idling).

 

Today...i heard a popping sound came...belive to be under the seat...

 

hmm...

Sounds like the engine choking....might 1 2 check yr spark-plug and spark-plug hoses. There might be some water. If there is, wipe it dry. Good Luck.

Khaitronic,based on what mentioned. An overnight rain. IMO I think is your fuel pump. I had the same issue when I first got my bike. Choky feeling, hard to pull off and weird idle, need to rev upon stopping at traffic light . I changed my plugs but still same, eventually took out fuel pump. The filter was choked by meshy stuff, suspet through years of accumated rust n rain.

sentiments alike.. I experience same thing.... Tank was rusty and the bottom of tank was rather filled with water.. .>.

cleanup the fuel pump and "derust" the tank.. Everything is good to go..

Went to sew a "tank cap cover" from 219 to prevent further water ingress cos our tank cap do not have rubber seal on the key hole as compared to Honda. So water seeps thru key hole easily as well. Not to mention that fact that our humidity is over 90% most of the time.....

how u exactly derust ur tank???really interested to see ur tank cap cover..well even if the water sip in , there's a tube to let the excess drained off. I " air gun" the drainage hole to make sure, nothign was trap inside..

Khai do a quick jumper short to ur dealer mode, check for error code...Ur next visit to KNT, most likely they will remove ur tank. U could ask them cable tie ur boot or you could buy those metal pipe locker, something similar to those used on tap, but a larger kind, locked ur boot to the Throttle body.Mine was cable tied at the rear...

 

 

I didn;t have the time, being busy with work, else my next tank removal. I will do a butterfly sync on the secondary..To make sure both butterflies open n close with the same gap...Saw a link on vstrom international.. Doing all these will improve throttle respond.

anyway guys,

saw this gear indicator+ ATRE which is meant for dl1000. will eliminate our restrictor.. ard 200 plus sgd... Its a good garget for those intending to get a Power comm. a TRE will pair up well with power comm.. this Gpro had two in one function, a gear indicator and it acts as a TRE too...anyway its FYI^^

Mine is slightly diff from those sewing over the tank bra...ITS A FREAKING BIG PATCH... hahah Majiam sumo wrestle loin cloth.. ahahhaha:angel:

yo guys, i'm asking ard for 1 of my colleagues.

he intend to get a used DL1000, preferably a 06-08 model.

i've no clue to the market rate for it, hoping can get some price range here.

anyone bought one in this few months?

there's one yellow k2 DL1000 at Guan Hoe shop in Autobay Kaki Bukit.. asking 8.5k.

 

However, friend of mine got same model at much better price from SBF garage sale.

just lossen the clamp ...reseat the boot, tighten the clamp and you are good to go ...

 

and do worry about the engine ...it can handle the backfiring ..

 

you could repeat this abt every 3 mths (visual inspection) or if you experience any series of backfiring... the boobs may have came off again

mc u tigten boot need not remove tank??? with engine guard, tank removal is a hassle man

 

clue: very slim fingers and 2 very long screw driver
