woo!! nice! this kind must drill on panel and slot in huh? can fix on handle bar?

i asked abt wilber and its 900 onwards....depending on the type of adjustability.

the dogbone is one way to increase clearance~ other than that....change suspension. lol

anybody enquire abt hyperpro rear shock?

According to Ohlin's website, there is only 1 type of recommended Fork Springs and Rear Shock Absorber for DL650. The selling price of these should NOT be tie down to 'depending on the type of adjustability'. If the shock can't be adjusted, WHY would I want to spend a premium on getting a Ohlins?!?! Beware of SALES talk. Go thr online catalog and then filter thr the SALES talk.

Attached are 2 small docs for your reference. There's also a rear shock absorber owner's manual (2.1mb) available for download from the main website @

I use the stock spring abut i use a rising dog bone to clear the bottoming

Lucky you. I'm not as tall as you. I actually need to lower the bike. Haha....

I was quoted $1100 for Ohlins rear shock. How much does the Hyperpro way cost? I'm also exploring beefing up my suspension.

If you are keen, let me know and probably I can try asking for a better price. What do you think?

You refering to Hyperpro? or Ohlins? Springs or entire rear shock?

Must see the price first before deciding. Currently for hyperpro how much is it? springs etc

This looks nice http://www.stromtrooper.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29030

I hope our local distributers can do a good job at installation.

Think SV650 refering to wilburs options of remote reservoir, preload adjustment, piggy back options etc. All depends whether you want the adjustment on the fly (handy knob) or remove seat, use a tool to adjust etc.

The options are endless http://www.revsracing.co.uk/wilbers.php

You are right about ohlins (only one type offered)

Barracuda, if u have read about my queries with Mtechnik at VStrom Singapore-Wilber Suspension, Chan explained the 3 types of suspension offer to our bike/other bikes as well...

Sporting Motor/Ohlins Distributor also quote me cheapest option as 1.1k(monoshock)

Of course you can just change spring()Hyperpro,Wilber,Ohlins)and dogbone for cheaper option. I'm not sure how effective of changing of dogbone helps to clear the DL650. DL1000 by default have a stiffer spring compare to DL 650 so shortening the dogbone does help the DL1000... but for the DL650, Im not quite sure, unless there's a Wee owner who is on the heavier side had done that before.

I can't remember the ohlins guy name but he was telling me a lot of technical details. He did informed me not to change the dogbone length as it will affect the centrifugal setup(???). I'm not sure if he's making up story but he does have a point. (Like super 4/rxz when you add the thing which you put under your spring to make it higher, it will affect make the rear go up... )

Then again we are the riders...The choice is individual, not what the shop says.

My pocket not so deep. I'll be trying out to replace Hyerpro front and rear spring first. If still cannot, then probably can put up my offer for the springs here and get something else. Haha...

Understand from Ano he did it (replace front & rear springs) and he is happy with what he has done. Barracuda, why don't you PM me your mobile number and whether you want the rear or front or both springs. I'll text you on the price when I happen to drop by at motoworld.

I'll stick to what is reasonable to my pocket vs fun factor. Don't want the hassle of problems in ordering and installation. :D

I finally found the source of the annoying rattling sound coming from the bottom of my stromie. I tightened the chain...still there....wrapped my mainstand foot lever with racket tape as side stand seems to be barely touching it ....still there...check all mountings around the mainstand area....no loose parts....still there.

While washing my stormie yesterday, I noticed that my rear hugger was loose because the rubber spacers inside the 'C' clamp bracket had dropped out. It was knocking on the swingarm causing the rattling sound.

Solution was to get those 3M rubber/foam pads (prevent furniture legs from scatching your floor) and pad up the part where the bracket contacts the swingarm. Now its nice & tight.

No more rattling! Those using pyramid hugger please check periodically on your right swingarm.
