Need help guys,i loan my N97 to a friend but forgot to give him the charger what happen now he charge the phone using the pin charger and plug it in the AV CONNECTED how stupid can u get.He never used NOKIA before,my question is can it damage the phone?out of town and will get the phone next week.

Actually nokia scare of mobile virus thus security in 3rd party sftware are tightened. All installation will need valid cert and key.

 

A hack is to disable the check for cert/key. which allows u to install any 3rd party sftware without a hassle esp cracked sftwares.

 

Rigntone prob u might wana try segregate ringtones from mp3s.

Best put ringtones in Main drive C:

 

Finally done with the maps. Currently using Garmin Mobile to Navigate. Compared to Ovi, e Ovi is more clearer on route but ex on subscription.

 

Garmin is not so detail but definitely more accurate on positioning...

 

Currently still searching for a more detailed map...

If ur fone can still on, then no issue . Btw , the charger is the mini usb type , so chargers from other brands which oso use the mini usb to charge can be used on the n97 too. The charger from my omnia2 works perfectly wif the n97.

just got the N97 mini but can't say that i am a fan of it. i was looking ard for an iphone alternative but seems slow on surfing.

dl and see which 1 you like.

 

I havent been checking newer versions of map. Normally the difference is additional POI thats it.

 

As for detail... well... Garmin is still pretty ok on the whole.

Dont have residential block numbers though. The streets are pretty detailed and accurate IMO

eh mine got display block no. leh.for Sg maps lah. but tested maps at kota tinggi but not really updated as in some roads dun "exist" in map. where to get latest maps ah?

Ovi maps is free for mostly new Nokia mobiles... I normally will use Garmin den switch to Nokia maps cos Garmin tracking is more faster

 

Pros - Detailed maps, worldwide mapping with faster uploading of maps, Easier Search Function

Cons - Time required to connect to Satelite is longer, background not well lit compared to Garmin Mobile, best to search with postal code for more accurate routing
