Dangerous turning at bus lanes

Sometimes, i think those road designers in LTA don't know what they are up to. Some of the broken lines for turning are so short that they expect us are so thin to squeeze in. Further, some of the turning lanes are so short that it is filled with buses, must squeeze in in split second. But if you do that, u kena film by the stupid bus. if you don't cut in, kena horned by car at the back for blocking their way.

 

what's more, a lot of stupid cars and lorries don't observe bus lane and just drive in, becos no police is watching. Stupid system, really basket!

i see this everyday morning... and summore the car/cabs/small lorries/vans speeding in the bus lane! then when u reach the broken lines, u'll find it hard to cut in too although no buses because of these buggers flying in the bus lanes...

i realised mostly SBS busdrivers don even bother to look into their side mirror before coming out of bus bay. ONLY when their bus crossing the bus bay line then they see the mirror. but of coz they are BIGGER in size so many motorists slow down and let them pass even they approaching fast. some drivers horned as they cant stop or change lane in time.The only time busdrivers stop is when vehicles like the sand trucks approaching.

Er.. guys, i m complaining that the broken line towards the turning is too short, not whether buses giving way. The Xin Min Ri Bao oso did a survey on some of the a55 brain designed turning. i know one of the worst is the one with the super short distance to turn into SIR from the bus stop. Miss it and you will have to go a long way to u-turn.

 

now, those ppl r coming up with compulsory give way to bus boxes. Come on, to those in charge, pls do some measurements such that there are adequate space for us to turn in!

like this u bang them u sala ma.. nowadays alot PRC bus drivers.. things to expect while riding:

 

1) excessive speeding from buses

2) buses overtake u at near side swiping distance becos they wanna chiong a right turn arrow.

3) they turn out from bus stops even though they saw u coming from the side mirror, leaving u in a do or die situation.

 

i personally experienced no.1 & 2. seen ppl kena no.3. i'd talked to a bus driver before and he admitted that driving at 50kph is really too darn slow and frequently will drive ard 60, top 70....

Hmm... i'm wondering if they should make it compulsory for buses to stop before the broken lines if there are vehicles wanting to left turn... haha... wishful thinking...

yup, sometimes if traffic is heavy, and bus block you from going into broken lanes before the turn, you ho seh liao...

 

for bikes still ok, can squeeze in last min still, for car is really really hard, no matter how small the car is.

 

LTA sometimes do things never check properly. got a road in bedok cant get into the carpark at all if you on the opp lane, and till end of the road like a t-junction also no u-turn...

 

so no chioce either you divert and make sure you come in by correct side of the traffic (which will make you drive a much longer distance) or you make a illegal u-turn... really really bad design.

 

it used to have 2 entrance to enter from either side, now only one side of the traffic can enter.

Hi all, i m sure u have received LTA letter regarding the mandatory give way to bus sign. what's ur view? i hope LTA do measurement first before creating more hazard for us.

This is what i m so frustrated - got rules, no implementation.

 

been seeing cars/lorries/bikes cut into bus lanes (not at broken lines) behind the bus. therefore, bus camera cannot film them, cos bus driver cannot see them. the next bus will be far behind most of the time so cannot catch them. end up, those ppl wanting to cut in at the broken line all have to wait, cos bus lane all full of idiots turning in! Stupid LTA!

Suddenly, van uncle see bus lane starting and make a quick swerve into middle lane, and almost hit me. I pressed the horn non-stop, then he signal that he is sorry and then speed even faster to overtake me.

 

Have you all encounter such thing? i think the bus lane is proving to be a killer forcing many vehicles to cut out recklessly.

commonwealth ave west one of the worst coz i think dez an implementation to test full day bus lane there? not sure, anyone to clarify? some more clementi stn there is chut mia traffic nightmare wan lor... :xian: let's hope the french team does a better job, since they ald come over liao... foreign talent mayb will work out better ba...
