Stebel Nautilus horn issue

Recommended Posts

Hi fellas!

Does anyone here know how to mount the Stebel Nautilus 139db horn on the Hypermotard 796? Seems like there's no room for this. I also went to 2 shops in Kaki Bukit yesterday and both mechanics told me they can't do it.

Not really worth it IMO. But not because of legalities.

Although the decibel rating is high for the Nautilus, I find it more piercing than loud. Another bigger issue I had with the horn was that there was a delay between me hitting the button and the sounding of the horn. I guess it had to do with the building up of pressure before it could produce a sound. I feel that in a situation where I need to blast my horn, any delay - no matter how short - could make a difference between life and death.

So, yeah, perhaps you should consider is it worth it. This is my experience with the Nautilus. See if you can get more feedback from others who have used it before.

Honda CG145, Honda CB150R ExMotion. And a few others in between...

May be you should stick to Stebel snail horns or the twin tones. These are legal and slightly smaller and should be easier to be fitted on your bike.
