i feel that many drivers cannot see what's the road condition in front of the bike. all their mentality is "see bike, slow, must cut him", they never knew even if they cut in, they're stuck with slow vehicles in front, and I'm talking about when i'm in the left most lane.

My experiences

1) Most common in expressways, vechicles want to exit left, cut in, found they're stuck in slow zone, turn out n cut the front vehicle.

2) A BMW who cannot see what's in front of me, a bus stopping n i'm gonna turn out, he still try to cut in

3) JB, the road in front all jamed up, everybody travelling like 40-60km/h, i'm in centre lane, leaving about 1 car's length, for safety, this taxi dont know what he trying to do, tailed very close to me, hi beam n horn. when my left got opening, i filter out, but before i filtered out the lane, he squeezed thru me, i horned, but he's still stuck there. later i'm behind him, i fingered him.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

no worries, everytime they want to cut in, i just let them. just that it's quite funny that they do this kind of stunt.

Take a look at this video clip. Listen carefully at 2 min point onwards. Hope that helps on the problem you are facing.

majority of the drivers dun realise that its not that the bikes are slow cannot keep up with the vehicle infront.. is that riders need to keep a safety distance further than a car cos bikes need a further braking distance..

The problem with most drivers who behave like that, is either they don't think, or they are very selfish.

What they can see when they drive is that is there is a Motorcycle right in front of their car and the next car is 6 car lengths ahead, and the driver thinks to himself

"The road is so clear! Next vehicle is 6 cars lenght ahead! Why is this Stupid Motorcyclist going so slow?

No wonder I am travelling at 50 km/hr on a 70km/hr road."

And tries to tail gate him.

What he don't realise is the Motorcyclist is already putting his life on the line to avoid getting horned by the drivers behind. He is probably only 3 car lengths from crashing into the vehicle infront when the driver behind him is 6 car lenght from the next car.

Pleae note this very important point.

By tailgating the bike, the car is not 6 car lengths from the next vehicle, he is 1 car length from the next vehicle. (ie: The motorcycle)

And when the vehicle infront E-Brakes and the motorcyclist E-brakes too, he gets horned at because now the driver thinks "Shlt! I CAN'T STOP IN TIME!!!"

Yes! We know you 4 wheels kukus are peeing in your pants now, but what do you nitwits hope to achieve by horning at us motorcyclist? We are motorcyclist, not Rocket Scientist. The bikes we ride on cannot blast off into the sky to get out of the way.

And one small nudge is all it takes for the bike to skid onto the next lane to be run over by other cars.

That's one of the reasons why more than 1/2 the fatal road accidents involve motorcyclist.

So drivers if you are reading this don't be stupid, just because it looks safe to you doesn't mean it's safe!

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

This is so true. Drivers thought that they are covered with metal so they can put a rider's life in danger by tailgating him. Grrrrr.. We should all carry eggs so we can "accidentally" throw them behind us onto their windscreen

It's not how fast you ride, but how well you ride.

alot of inpatient drivers expect us to go so close to the vehicle in front of us.. when i dont, they overtake me just to stay behind the vehicle that i was behind, ie right in front of me.. i am thinking "and then..? you overtake me just to be in front of me?"

i believe alot of accidents can be avoided if everyone maintains a safe following distance, dont roadhog, jam wouldnt be that bad as well.

Kuku... How fast can a car go in SG? All you see is traffic lights and even thou car over take me and high rev. the next traffic light i still see you with less petrol used and less wear and tear. They are just selfish and want to have a clear road so they no need to concentrate and then can use their handphone.

I already see thousands of them on road liaoz. Can use hp and didnt see me and when i stop infront of him and stare at him he still continue to call. WTF!!!! plain selfish.

And all they think is bikers are slow. YA RITE SLOW!!!! Please lor in heavy traffic bike is always faster.

PS to cars. I STILL SEE YOU IN TRAFFIC LIGHT. And you will be behind after that. :D

Really? My bro just changed his car tyres for his super small car, only cost $180 for 4 leh. But his tyres are small! Like slightly bigger than vespa tyres in diameter :faint:

Nitrogen air filling actually helps to contain the air in an event of a puncture. So the air won't be lost so easily.. It's better not to pump at petrol kiosk as it will defeat the purpose already :faint:

That is one of the reasons why motorcyclists seem to love to lane split so much, not because they love to cut through heavy traffic, (ok there are those who do love it, ahem, just a tiny minority, mind) but rather they are forced to do that out of necessity, since staying in lane means they are at the mercy of 4-wheelers in front and behind them. No biker wants to be the main filling in a rubber and metal sandwich. I am also a driver and when I'm driving a car on the road, I make sure I give some space whenever I see a biker coming up beside me in my side mirrors. I believe many bikers who also drive do understand the dangers that bikers face, and they act with courtesy and awareness when on the roads. :thumb:

I used to be a car person. Then one day, I woke up and became a biker.

Ex rides:

Nissan Sunny 1.6

Nissan Cefiro 2.0

Honda CBR 150 R

Honda CBR 400 RR Fireblade

Current rides:

Yamaha 2008 YZF-R1

KIA Cerato Forte 1.6 Well OK sometimes a car comes in handy.

no la bay. Official racing use of nitrogen is because... When tyres get warm, the air will expand if u are usnig nitrogen. contributing to the handling of the car.

if you want no leak ... last time i know hummer got this technology called the CIS. Central tyre inflation System.

Well said. I too am a driver, i also give way and dont draft the m'cyclist.. tats why when I'm riding, i always go in between cars cause i cannot see whats infront, if i cannot see i damn scared i will kiss on the car infront if they jam brake.

then some of them are really abit too much la.. like the car infront slow down abit only, then there is like 23565465416198488491610987494561164694649462162161897979878976546546131649512021054068409 car spaces then he jam brake until smoke come out..

these people shld take the bus. :dot:
