Saw a beautiful candy red VFR with E55 box (FBE3xxx) on my way home today, 6:30pm on CTE northbound. Thanks for the friendly wave, bro. Too bad we missed the cheaper ERP rate by 1 minute. I was riding the black VFR with fat V35 side boxes and gave you a thumbs up as you passed. Your bike is so clean and shiny! I need to wash mine this weekend. Do check your box rack, though. It looked a bit shaky and slanted to the left. Ride safe!

Thanks bro! My key to lane-splitting with a fat bike is visualisation. That said, I'm nothing compared to those hardcore BMW GS riders who can squeeze at incredible speeds aboard their heavy steeds with big aluminium side boxed installed.

And when I said your bike is clean, I mean it's "so damn squeaky-shiny I could use it as a mirror" clean! :thumb: That is a product of more than just washing, but painstaking detailing. Now I'm so ashamed of myself for letting my stallion become so dirty and worse, stay so dirty.

I am sure you have no problem to bringing back the past glory of your VFR.You just need more elbow grease that all.I see that you're rather active with VFRD and with recent installation of PC 5,how much does it affect your fuel consumption?

Somehow your bike looks very familiar to me,did you just bought over from a guy staying over at balestier?

I always manage to expend all my elbow grease on household chores and leave none for my bike. Not good, not good.

The PC5 doesn't seem to increase fuel consumption much, but I have only refueled 3 times after installing it so it's too early to tell. I am still getting around 16.5 km/L, travelling mainly on expressways during peak hours and seldom engaging VTEC. Theoretically the FC should increase because I am enriching the fuel map. But the resulting smoothness helps to balance it out because I don't need to keep the revs high to avoid surging.

I think I'm going to get the Autotune soon. Dyno tuning is great for all-out performance but Autotune seems to be the better choice for daily riding.

And yes, I bought my VFR from a guy staying in Balestier back in late 2012. Are you acquainted with him?

Saw a nice black VFR FBD9xxx with Laser exhaust on CTE northbound before PIE on Tues. The exhaust note was nice and deep. :thumb: Plus the rider was wearing the same Komine mesh jacket as me! :cheeky: Thumbs up and ride safe, bro. I was riding the black VFR FBC4xxx with Leo Vince exhaust.

Also spotted a nice red VFR with OEM panniers a few weeks back at GP on Thu of the long National Day weekend. Part of a larger group of tourers. Don't ask me license plates, I nvr note lol

LOL. Sorry Rhema for the super late reply. Guess that was me. Hehe. Wow. It's been ages since I visited SBF.

Somehow our V4 sounds so tame no matter what exhaust we put on them. Why oh why?

hi bros, hows the "coe bike" market for post 02 VFRs? Is it commonly renewed like the blackbird. It still looks really good & cutting edge despite that the model is now >10yrs.

1997 TZR 125 - 1998 FZ 150 - 1999 GSXR 400K - 1999 RX 100 - 2000 LC 125 - 2001 TZR 125 - 2002 CB 400 Ver S - 2006 CBR 929 - 2006 GETZ 1.4 - 2009 STEED 400 - 2016 ???

Riders ride to work. Drivers work to drive.

sounds mean nothing without the V4 pull - I quite like the silent whizz that turns into a growl when you really open up the power

Loud noises typically only draw the wrong kind of attention anyway

considering Honda reliability there is no reason why our bikes cant last beyond the 10 years COE - mine has been renewed - engine running smooth still after 160k clicks

General Japanese motorcycles are more reliable than conti counterparts but that doesn't mean they last forever. Some of the common issue with VFR800 is CCT failure.Valve clearance check can cost a bomb as compare to non-vtec engine.

2 VFR sightings last night during 2nd link petrol run - both red colour, one without boxes, one with H&B side panniers

Myself riding with a mate both on black VFR800, so total 4 VFR on the road at that moment in time and place

Not exactly a VFR sighting but wanted to post nonetheless. Met a friendly Ducati 1098S rider at Serangoon North yesterday. I was riding the VFR quite hard to test out the rear shock which seemed to have become softer after frequent pillion riding. Felt quite awkward as the nimble superbike followed my fat sport tourer effortlessly. Hope he didn't think I was "showing off" cos there is actually nothing to show, haha!! :cheeky: We exchanged thumbs-up at the junction of YCK Road and AMK Ave 5 before he rode off.

Got to admit that the 1098S V-twin exhaust note and dry clutch sound are just addictive. But I heard the sound of my VFR as an observer when my mechanic test rode my bike and I think it's not far behind, too. :thumb:
