Hi all... Was cleaning my FZ1-S (2011 model). Realised 2 of the 6 windscreen screws heads are broken off, and the rest of the screw body is lodged inside the fairing. 1 more screw is jammed and the screw head has no more "plus" shape.

I don't understand why Yamaha decided to use plastic screws for such an important component?!

Anyway, I just ordered some OEM metal screws online. Meanwhile, how do I remove my windscreen and the 2 broken screws??

Current ride:Hyundai i30 CW (Sept 2016 - Present)

Yamaha FZ1-S (Aug 2014 - Present)

Previous ride: Honda Tiger 200 (Oct 2009 - Jun 2012)

Suzuki GSR 600 (Jun 2012 - Sept 2013)

Hyundai Matrix (Jun 2013 - Aug 2016)

I think this is really tricky to answer without pics. Like eg, does the screw hole allows the broken part to go through it?

Ok bros, problem solved. I purchased compatible OEM screws from ebay for my FZ1-S (complete with rubber washer) for a few dollars, had to wait 2 weeks for delivery. Went down to my local friendly bike shop, and they carefully removed the broken screws and fitted the new ones nicely!
