Thanks. Am recuperating at the moment and will ride again. Thankfully I got personal insurance sadly its not the premium plan. Still jobless at the moment due to the accident.

just wondering coz it's gonna be a logistical, and possibly legal nightmare

but other than the annual rides like the Honda / BBDC safety day, SBF, and individual club rides

 

would we have a snowball's chance in hell to tie in with the TP/ROV/LTA etc to have an annual island wide safety convoy?

 

i mean, since they are campaigning about cyclists having right to use the roads and all.

 

why not have an actual motorcycling safety campaign OTR rather than silly tv adverts that eventually point the finger back at "careless riders"?

 

maybe even have exemptions of bus lanes for bikes coz it's not always 100% utilised... and that's such a waste of road real estate.

 

i'm prolly gonna get a "WHY DON'T YOU DO IT" reply to this, but I do not know anyone in the agencies to start.

RIP to all the fallen biker bros and sis.Its scary to think that my name could have appeared in here but thanks to the prayers of friends and families I was able to regain consciousness from a coma. Never had it crossed my mind I would be in this condition due to my safe riding habits. But all it took was a careless driver to end it all. We as bikers we only have ourselves to keep a look out for each other on the road be it riding a small or big bike. If any of you saw an accident involving a rider please step forward and be a witness. You never know when it could be yours. Ride defensively.

 

Hey man, do you mind sharing with us what happened? I know its abit off topic but if you can shed some light on it, perhaps we all can be even more careful and safer to look out for certain things in our riding. In what way were your riding habits safe? If you could impart to us...you might save lives.

Sorry I would like to but the concussion I experienced wiped my memory out for that entire day. My safe riding habits can be vouched by friends and colleagues who have seen me ride. I always tell others however safe you ride it just takes a reckless driver to end it. Ironically it happened to me. Thankfully I am still alive.

bikers always on the losing in any accident situation , very rare we can be riding to a ripe old age, however the outcome when we ride please remember there will always be someone who will miss us , so as far as possible ride safe , ride far treasure every moment

Hope you are fine. We riders are always in the losing end. Ride safe and defensively too coz even if you ride safely it just takes one reckless driver to end it all. I have nothing against drivers just so you know. I only have problems with the reckless ones.

What i heard from a fellow rider, he horns whenever he approaches junction. Maybe we should do that. Horn no matter what, even though the driver like in the accident case, SEEMED to see you.

In a biking community, b prepared mentally to lose some coz accident do happen.. I always pray to God to protect my fellow buddies from mishaps n other riders in general... Very important, do not b emotional when on e road.. Even when a reckless driver/rider provokes u, in that split second, think of God n ur love ones, especially ur parents.. As im a rider myself, i always took e chance to tell my both my parents i love them after each prayer that we did together n ask for forgiveness (whether intentionally or unintentionally).. An example for my children to follow when they grow up..

No doubt lane splitting is an offence but we have to do it if not all of us gonna reach our destination very much later but do it with caution n not like tis mangkuk who proudly states he did it at high speed... Defensive riding, that's wat lacking in e riders, especially those young ones.. But then again, no point advising so much coz these group of pple juz wnt repent n learn..

I only hope that these reckless riders will met with a very bad accident n let their families, especially, their parents suffer to take care of them when they r crippled n bedridden that is IF they r still alive, actually if die even better, less such riders on e road..

There is no preparation enough be it mentally or physically. In an accident anything can happen. Injuries so bad it will even affect your mentality. Only preparation is to return to the Almighty.

Bro, that comment i posted in other thread n i've oreidi apologised to e person.. So pls stop spreading it around.. My comment was aimed to those reckless riders who bring bad name to bikers community.. Yup i admit for being over board with what i've said but bcoz of this group of reckless pple, had made those fellas who wanted to take bike license became victims to their parents objection to their request coz to their parents bikes r dangerous.. Wat i stated is one of the factors affecting their decisions in not allowing their children to take bike license.. N in e end some resorted to take it quietly without e parents knowledge..

The man found dead in a forested area near Changi Coast Road on Saturday has been identified as Mr Jason Peter Quek.

 

The 38-year-old, who was married and had a daughter, was a supplier of marine products here.

 

While neighbours said he was an avid cyclist, new information, which surfaced yesterday, pointed to the fact that Mr Quek had not gone cycling, as previously reported.

 

The Straits Times understands his body was found about 100m away from his motorcycle, which was left near the beach.

Barely 45 minutes ago, saw a fatal accident along PIE just before the ERP gantry towards CTE. Saw a mid 50's chinese uncle laid on the middle of the road. Half face down with his fore right head just above his right eye the flesh opened up with blood and brain jus flowed on the road. Face completely pale white with no helmet on it, must have flung off. Rode passed him barely 2 metres away, it gave shiver down into my spine, hair also stand.
