Wow i had no idea it was so easy, just use force, no tools required... intriguing... but locking rear wheel would be safer, ensure that theif can't lift off the front and cart it away on a lorry like a wheelbarrow.

Steering lock is pointless for a determined thief/ monkey.

Those monekys simply slide a pole thru the front wheel and another monkey push from behind. Up the van/ lorry.

It was done by a bunch of monkeys who stole bikes in SG, reported in the papers some months back. Or maybe last year.

I use something similar to the lock found in the 3rd vid but i still feel uneasy about leaving my bike for long periods wherever I am in jb. The crime situation is just appalling. All they need is a few men and 5 minutes to load up your bike onto their truck/van.

Current Rides:

FEB 07 -> NOV 08 [CBR 150]

AUG 08 -> AUG 12 [XJR400]

AUG 12 -> ??? [DUCATI MONSTER 696]

I dont really trust JB , and makes me boil is that, when we enter their country 4 holiday , do up our bikes, or simply shopping. We enter with fear, we holiday in fear and we live with fear.

Its like nothing is done to stop this bike theives.

BUT when individuals inhabiting in JB comes to singapore, its like a safe haven for them , their car wont be stolen nor will their bikes.

I mean the crime rate is just outrageous and out of COntrol!

then dun go there and let them starve

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

seems that handlelocking is as good as useless.

how about looping those locks through the holes located at our disc brake?

i think come to bikes and bicycle it's still the same. Lets just lock our bikes to a lamp post with a chain will do.. this way they cant lift and steal it.

Guys, do you think using a lock and attaching it to your front disc brake would be safe for normal enclosed MSCP? The lock looks something like this but bigger in size:

I was wondering if people forcefully push your bike, won't the disc brake lock or lock pad spoil the disc brake of your bike?

Subaru Impreza 1.6i (SGU) [2006 - ???]

Honda CBR150R (FW) [2009 - 2009]

as long as they can steal your bike, they can still sell your other parts away.. spoiling your disc brake would only mean earning a couple of $$ less..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.
