hey bros, need some help here. im thinking of DIY spray of my 125z engine casing. those that knows, one side of the casing is plastic, another side is metal. nevermind about how im gonna spray it but what i want to know is, is there any special way of doing this? i was thinking of using high temp spray first, then overlap it with a coat of nippon or rj glossy black as i want to achieve a glossy black finishing..is this advisable or is there anyway of doing it?

input ur suggestions to those who has experience or knows how to go about doing this..

thanks in advance..

dark mode, or light mode?

The high temp paint on the hot metal parts would still fall off overtime, and the same for that glossy paint over it.

Probably needs touch up every few months.

one way to do it is to spray paint using quality black nippon spray and lacquer then apply this for 2 to 3 layers while letting it dry at the sun,

but as for quality and how long it will last im not too sure.

Chrome is plated, not polished.

You can never get a chrome finish just by polishing.

haha only those who have commit the time and sacrifice their hands becoming as one as the sand paper, will say its possible.

I guess it depends on what your perception of how loosely you use the term "chrome finish". IMHO, it is not possible to get a chrome finish by polishing. No matter how much time & effort you put in, it will only be a "highly polished finish" & never a mirror chrome finish.

Cheers!
