I need help!! Wat happened yesterday was

i was riding back from jb at abt 80km/h wen the bike

suddenly died. Twisted throtte but stil die.. Went to the road shoulder

and tot bike overheated.. Waited for a while but still couldnt start

Wat will happen is it will stary for a second and die off..

Bike was just bought 2weeks ago. Wen start and pull throtte, sounds

like knocking.. Wats d problem??

Suggest you bring the bike back to the shop since it was bought two weeks ago. Tell them the problem and insiste thay have the battery change.

When you restart, the cranking start is weak..its sign of a weak or bad battery. That's not all, could be a partially bad rectifier or even the magneto coil going bad. The bike should be aunder at least 1 month warranty.

Anyone can help? What's the diff between cone bearing and front wheel bearing? And what are the signs in order to change cone or front wheel bearing?

And got another question, where can I change all my bearings in the east cheap2?

Cone bearing is sometime more commonly known as "steering bearings"..just under your steering handle. Wheel bearing are all the same..No.6363..about $12 a side and as for cone bearing, $80 - $90..all installation work included.

Bad wheel bearings..when tyre leveled off, shake tyres sideway and there is movement..same for back. As for cone bearing, when brake, handle bar move very slightly forward when braking with a knocking noise or steering become 'stiff' and does not swing fully (wheel off the ground when testing).

Cheap..x2!?..depend on location and rental and expreience of a good mech..prices varies..but geneically not more than $10 apart lah.

DO NOT USE STAINLESS STEEL BOLTS ON YOUR ENGINE CRANK CASE> You need harden bolts.

thanks ah pek. but why cannot use stainless steel bolts on engine crank case ar? Just curious.

btw, if i tell the hardware shop that i want harden bolts, they will know what it is? sorry, cause i'm not too sure what is it also...scared buy wrongly :shy:

Not sure what servcing is done. Lost of compression can cause this kind of problem too but I suggest you take out the plugs and inspect them. If they are too black..or even moist, than that could be the cause. If this is the case, could be air/fuel mixture or electrical problem.

My servicing consist of changing engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, washing of air filter and servicing plus tuning of carburetor. Grounding and installing of Revtec was done 1 week after that.

Anyway thanks for your help, I will get the mechanic to check on the possible causes that you have mentioned, hopefully can resolve this issue, thanks again and ride safely. :thumb:

So basically, there are a pair of wheel bearings on the front tires, a pair on the rear. So that's 2 pairs. What about the sprocket bearings that I've heard? Is there any other bearings besides the bearings that I've mentioned?

Its too soft and not meant for use with the kind of heat at the crank case. You have to show them a sample and tell them where it is use for. Hard to find with the nut head attached to the washer like the original..only factory release..but can order from Boon Siew. Local hardware shop has the bolt but seperate with the washer.

That has nothing to do with the cone bearing. Cone bearing don't give you this problem or symptom. Its either tyre uneven wear and tear or under pressure at that time. Change brand new yre after awhile, occassionally oso like that. After awhie, it be back to normal..but if you wanna get rid of it immediately, go pump another 10-15 kpi up for the day.:sian:

Back has three..two are the usual wheel bearing 6363, the other is thicker and slighly smaller..most of the time need not to change unless you want to or need to..sorry, forgot the bearing number.

Base on your description here, IMHO..front 270..back..at least 290 (kpi).

$12 a side. Not necessary to change front or back lah unless spoiled but I normally change them all at one go..guess its better just in case.

Wow Ah Pek you're like the FAQ for newbies. haha. Thanks so much, will probably need the guidance of many fellow S4 riders here..
