Tevez agent had being arrested in Brazil. In the article (Below) stated that he has a high chance of becoming a MANCHESTER UNITED player. Kewl! Gd NEWS indeed! Wondering what jersey number would he be given. 17 ?

From Soccernet.com

Tevez agent arrest warrant issued in Brazil

The Carlos Tevez transfer saga took a fresh twist today after a reports from South America claimed a Brazilian judge had issued an overseas arrest warrant for the player's advisor Kia Joorabchian.

The Brazilian authorities are reported to have instructed Interpol to carry out the arrest of Joorabchian, who is involved in negotiations for the sale of Tevez to Manchester United to West Ham, and Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky. Mr Berezovsky's lawyer was unaware of the issuing of a warrant this morning.

The warrants are reported to relate to suspected money laundering at Brazilian side Corinthians, of which Joorabchian's company Media Sports Investment (MSI) is a majority investor.

Judge Fausto Martin de Sanctis reportedly ordered the club's assets to be frozen and will also investigate international transfers conducted by the club.

Both Corinthians and MSI deny the charges.

Argentina striker Tevez is set to be confirmed as Sir Alex Ferguson's latest summer signing next week after playing in Sunday's Copa America final against Brazil.

Joorabchian, who owns the player's economic rights, insists West Ham have a special place in Tevez's heart but that he has no qualms about moving on.

'Carlos is a bit sad as, in terms of West Ham, he felt very attached to the club last season,' Joorabchian said on Sky Sports News.

'He helped them out of the relegation battle but he is a sportsman, he doesn't understand the administrative bits and pieces.

'He knows he is not fighting with West Ham or demanding anything. He loved his time there and it was mutually agreed he would be there for a year and he has served his year.

'He feels confident now he is a Man United player.'

Personal terms have already been agreed and Tevez is expected to undergo a medical, with Ferguson confident the protracted saga is coming to a close.

Ferguson said last night: 'I think we have got the player - we think he is our player and are very hopeful.

'Everyone was excited when we thought we could get Tevez. He's exciting, his form is fantastic and at 23 he can get better.'

United have agreed an initial loan deal for Tevez with the option of a permanent transfer, which could be worth over £30million.

They had hoped to push the deal through last week but it stalled after the Premier League insisted West Ham, who hold Tevez's registration, must receive the majority of the fee.

That is because West Ham were allowed to keep playing Tevez last season after assuring the Premier League all third-party clauses in the player's contract had been severed.

But Joorabchian is confident he is on sound legal footing to push the transfer through.

He released a statement to PA Sport indicating all three parties involved in the transfer - understood to mean Manchester United, West Ham and his own company MSI - were confident 'the administrative issues will be settled in the next few days'.

Joorabchian added: 'We don't see any problems. I spoke to United tonight and they are confident they will have him registered next week.

'Carlos will come on Tuesday, have a medical on Wednesday at United and hopefully we will have administrative issues sorted next week.

'Personal terms between Carlos and United have been agreed in full. He feels confident now he is a Manchester United player.'

But the deal must still be approved by the Premier League - and their position has not changed.

The league last night warned Tevez's registration will not be transferred to Manchester United unless they are satisfied West Ham conducted the deal.

A spokesman said: 'Any deal for Carlos Tevez has to be done directly with West Ham United.

'They hold the registration and we will not transfer the registration unless a deal is done directly with the club.'

West Ham have also denied a deal has been done.

TOKYO -

SIR Alex Ferguson is ready to unleash almost 40 million pounds (S$123 million) of new talent when Manchester United begin their pre-season tour of Asia in Tokyo on Monday.

Two years after their last visit to the region, United return as English Premiership champions for a four-game tour that will see them play to full houses in Tokyo, Seoul, Macau and Guangzhou over the next two weeks.

And the club's huge army of fans in Asia will be the first to glimpse new arrivals Owen Hargreaves and Nani in a United shirt.

But there is no match in Kuala Lumpur after United bowed to pressure from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and called it off as it clashed with the ongoing Asian Cup.

Unknown to the Red Devils, the Football Association of Malaysia had signed an agreement with the AFC not to host any other games while it was acting as a co-host of the regional soccer showpiece.

While United will show off Hargreaves and Nani, Brazilian midfielder Anderson, a 19 million pound buy from Porto, will miss the tour due to his involvement in the Copa America.

United are also without Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez as they attempt to finalise his transfer from West Ham early this week.

But England midfielder Hargreaves, who cost 17 million pounds from Bayern Munich, and 17.3 million pound Portuguese winger Nani join the likes of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs in a star-studded squad.

Hargreaves ended a 12-month wait to sign for United when he arrived from Bayern last month.

The 26-year-old Canada-born midfielder has been likened to Roy Keane for his all-action style and boss Ferguson admits that he will be a crucial addition to the Old Trafford squad.

'I don't think we were looking to have a Roy Keane-type player, but certainly some of the qualities that Owen has are different to the ones we have at the moment,' he said.

'The question is always there about how do you replace great players? We said the same when Bryan Robson left and we got Paul Ince and then Roy Keane. Although they were different types of players there were some similarities and Owen has some of those as well,' he said.

'He will bring speed in midfield and good energy, but what is really important is that he has European experience which a not a lot of our players have. His arrival, and that of Nani and Anderson, gives us a really strong squad next year,' he added.

'Maybe that was our downfall when we got into the final part of last season. We just didn't have enough in the squad to handle all the competitions we were in,' he said.

Rio Ferdinand says it is not just the fans who are looking forward to seeing Nani and Hargreaves in action. The players are keen too.

'We're looking forward to seeing them play as well,' he said.

'All the players here are the same, we want to see them play. Obviously we know more about Owen than Nani and Anderson. I've not really seen either of them play. Anderson hasn't joined up with us yet, but when he does, as with Nani, we'll be keen to see what he can do,' he said.

United kick-off their tour when they face Urawa Red Diamonds in Saitama on Tuesday evening before jetting to Seoul to face FC Seoul on Friday night, sadly without their injured South Korean midfielder Park Ji-Sung.

From Korea, United move on to Macau for a clash against Shenzhen FC in Macau Stadium on July 23 before wrapping up the tour with a game against Guangzhou Pharmaceutical four days later.

Manchester United produced a much improved performance to defeat FC Seoul 4-0 in South Korea.

The Premier League champions controlled the match from the start and coasted to a convincing victory thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Chris Eagles, Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra.

Nani and Owen Hargreaves both spent the game on the sidelines and were soon made to realise that it will be far from easy to break into Sir Alex Ferguson's first-choice side, as United raced into a 3-0 half-time lead with some scintillating football.

Ronaldo's emergence as one of the best players on the planet has led most teams to mark him closely, so the Portuguese winger must have briefly thought the whistle had been blown when he collected Rooney's pass and was given time to advance to the edge of the area and slam a powerful low shot past Kim Byung-ji in the sixth minute.

Every spectator in a sell-out stadium seemed delighted with the goal and there were further celebrations on the terraces after 18 minutes as Ronaldo released Eagles with an audacious flick and the young midfielder coolly slotted home.

United made it 3-0 in the 21st minute and again it was Ronaldo at the heart of the build-up as he broke forward and laid a short pass off for Rooney to finish from close range.

Seoul gradually battled their way back into the game as half-time approached and the dangerous Ricardo sent a couple of shots just off target from distance, although Ronaldo went even closer at the other end with a vicious, swerving effort which dipped just over the crossbar.

Ferguson made five changes at half-time and there was less of a threat early on without Rooney and Ronaldo, with Seoul looking likeliest to get the next goal.

However, the impressive Evra, playing on the left wing, fired United 4-0 ahead on the hour mark with an angled drive across Kim from the left. Seoul's work-rate in the final 30 minutes was admirable as they hunted a consolation, but substitute keeper Tomasz Kuszczak was not tested apart from one fizzing long-range shot from Kim Dong-seok.

Maybe Man U should invest in getting another top notch defender just in case ferdinand is off form again. Their striking power is strong next season.

Well, thats actually a very gd idea. In any case that apart from Ferdinand, also any of their first choice defenders are off form, suspended or gets injured again, and worst is that, there are speculations that they are leaving the club.

For centre backs, i read reviews that one of Man U's youngsters, Pique is very good, n has a very excellent prospect, he played very well for Spain U-21, however there were speculations that he prefers a move to Barca in future. They have already sold American International John Spector, whom had good potential too. Spector is one of the main defenders for America's main national team, apart from TIm Howard.

Hmmm, the Glazers from America, bought over Man U, and they sold two of their USA National team players.

Hi Guys,

Man U recently had purchased 3 fantastic players, namely Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson. And with the prospect of Tevez also joining in e ranks, which is very interesting and extremely good for the clubs ambitions n seriously the club are one of the main contenders for all 4 Cups in the coming season.

However if we were to really look at the clubs' players, and team depth, it does look that the recent purchase were to replace some of the existing main players in the future.

Particularly, and does look likely this way...

Hargreaves,26, for Scholes (who is turning 33 in Nov 07)

Nani,20, for Ryan Giggs (who is turning 34 in Nov 07)

Anderson,19,/Tevez,23, for Solskjaer (who is turning 35 in Feb 08)

Do bear in mind that Man U also sold Nistelrooy the previous season and did not buy any forward to replace him.

So far, if we were to follow this assumption, it looks like the players that were purchased would likely be replacements in the future.

At the same, i am sure u are aware that Richardson has already left. With the prospect that Alan Smith, Rossi, Heinze might be tempted to leave the club and even Brown, with speculations that there might be a transfer for him. Well, this are just possibilities, however if such moves and deals were to take place, it does leave a much different impression now for the clubs actual depth and backup players to support the main team players, for any circumstances, like fatigue, injury, suspension... And if they are to mount a serious challenge for the main cup competitions, they would need to rotate them accordingly to rest, and also not to aggravate any slight injuries pick up in every match.

Well, care to share your point of views...

as maybe i might have left smthing out...

just my 2 cents... :thumb:

One of the news report currently the only weakest link to Man U would be their goalkeeper. Edwin Van Der Sar (36) but to me he is still one of the top GK around. But I do feel Man U need to groom another GK for the future.

Kinda surprised that is kinda quiet here.

Apparently i believed tt Fergie does know whats his doing. His attacking side is one of the strongest in the premier league, with ronaldo and rooney blossoming quite well, especially based on their recent performance in the far east, and with the addition of nani, anderson and owen, of whom we are aware are very reputable in terms of their of capabilities and performance. The team is also maturing very well, with experiences at the highest level. You could see on how well they performed esp. in the Euro competitions last season, with under so much pressure and expectations, yet even with injuries, suspensions and a depleted squad left to choose from.

Giggsy and scholes will likely lead by example this coming season and probably just might not be playing much. but if they do, likely they wld be holding key positions in terms of controlling the game play, making thru ball passes/runs for the youngsters to perform n score.

What happened last season with the massive injuries encoutered was actually very unfortunate to Man Utd. It might not be that often if that would to happen again. Plus, one mistake Fergie make was to allow many of his promising youngsters and reserve players to go on loan. I calculated that Man Utd had more or less close to 15 players on loan last season.

This season i believed, Fergie might not let them all go on loan, so Man Utd have a very very big squad to choose from. Trust me on this.

This season, they will have many players to choose from, for any positions. Their youngsters who went on loan last season are indeed very promising and have performed very well. Thats y other teams loaned their youngsters. If you play FM, you would know the depth of Man Utd reserve and youngsters. :thumb:

Well, that could be true, as he might already be slightly past his best or peak. But he indeed has enormous experience, with about 120 international caps for holland.

As i am aware, Ben Foster(24) who is currently receiving treatment for his knee injury will be back in the Man Utd team. He has performed quite well when he was on loan to watford, such that he earned and England callup to the national team. Plus we have Kuszczak(25), whom though did nt have the best performance last season, is quite well know for his shot stopping.

Other then that, we have the reserve goalies like Luke Steele and Tom Heaton.

Well, i hoped that this current batch of keepers would perform well enough. if not it could be one of their weakest link, as like you mentioned.
