Damn!! Rossi just sold to Villareal!! I know that competition is tough for the striker's spot but Rossi HAD great potential! I was kinda hoping that he featured this season.

Damn!! Rossi just sold to Villareal!! I know that competition is tough for the striker's spot but Rossi HAD great potential! I was kinda hoping that he featured this season.

 

Well, the good thing is that Rossi's contract has a clause that will allow Man Utd to buy him back in the future, should the need arise. As per the report later below.

 

But at the same time, from the media reports are that, Ferguson will now hope to tie up the transfer of Carlos Tevez reasonably quickly as, with Alan Smith seemingly certain to leave before the August 31 deadline and both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Louis Saha on the injured list, he is likely to have only one recognised out-and-out striker, Wayne Rooney, in his squad for Sunday's Community Shield showdown with Chelsea at Wembley. :(

 

 

 

 

 

Manchester United will have the option to buy-back Giuseppe Rossi in the future, manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.

 

Villarreal have signed Rossi for £6million after the Italian Under 21 striker decided he needed regular first-team football this season.

 

Rossi has signed a six-year deal with Villarreal and will replace former United striker Diego Forlan at the Spanish club.

 

The 20-year-old could find himself back at Old Trafford in a few years after Ferguson confirmed the clause in the contract.

 

Ferguson did his best to try and persuade Rossi to stay, but is content with the option to bring him back to United in the future.

 

"We have put in a clause in the contract, so maybe he will come back to us at some stage," Ferguson told MUTV.

 

"We wish Giuseppe well and we know he will do well at Villarreal.

 

"It was a difficult decision to let him leave. I had several meetings with him to try and convince him that he would get plenty of football with us this season and all he needed was a bit of patience.

 

"But, having been on loan last season, he wanted first-team football all the time."

Rossi to Villareal mite be a good bros, he's a great potential, but saw dat he got muscled out on a couple of occasions, maybe as dey say... EPL is very physical...

Its time Man U consider off loading Saha and give the youngster chance to shine, Solskjaer may not last every game so they definitely need another striker who have premiership experience to play. Nani need time to adapt.

Spanish defender Gerard Pique is glad to be back in Manchester and training with the first team ahead of the new campaign.

 

Pique has returned from a season-long loan at Real Zaragoza, where he helped the Spaniards finish sixth behind Real Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Villarreal.

 

His promising performances at the heart of Zaragoza’s defence were hugely impressive and prompted Sir Alex to recall the former Barcelona youngster for the start of the new season, where he is expected to act as an understudy to Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

 

Sporting a new close-cut hairstyle – the 20-year-old is grateful for the chance to try and push on into United’s first team.

 

“I saw what the lads achieved last season and just tried to keep my head down and do the best I could in the situation I was in," he told ManUtd.com. "This year I think the club will have another excellent season – and it would be great to be a part of that.”

 

Pique admits that the pace of the game in England is different and that he will have to adapt from playing in La Liga – but he is more than ready for the challenges that lie ahead.

 

“Everything is different when you play in another country," he admitted. "The style of play, the pace, the culture and the training. But I learned a lot last season and I’m looking forward for the chance to showing what I can do here.

 

"I’ve been back for a few sessions and I’m getting back into it – a few more and I’ll be ready to play I think. I just hope I get a chance to play at some stage.”

Ye..ye.. yeahh... EPL is back n The devils r hunger for more..... I can't wait for the opening game against reading... hopefully tevez will start n link with rooney.. n also nani,anderson n pique will feature for the absentee gary not wes brown.. i can't wait to c this happening... :thumb:
