anybody can help? i just changed batt and also rectifier. grounding done by previous owner. so how come my voltmeter still show lower idling voltage after riding for about 15mins at ard 12.4~12.6 whereas when i just start my bike it will be 13.4~13.6? i examine it be my fan is on.

Is your problem solved yet..if not, give me a call and bring your bike down to AMK Ave 10..will try and solve your problem...have to do a alternator circuity charging check for you and get tot the root of your problem.

Anyone else, especially those that already have their rectifier or battery changed ? Call me at 90670020.

Good experience shared by old birds. Battery is a crucial component, better don play play with it. All the electrical components are at risk if there a spike or worst the battery explode from one of those 'made in china' brand. Yuasa is house whole brand for battery and there is imitation around.

Well, you are free to try other brands and share your experience here.

Try FT12-BS from Furukawa Japan..$85 for original..charge rating 10AH...using myself. Yusa YTX9BS (8AH) and YTX12 (10AH) at LAB 95% chiong ($45 to $55).

I have no comment until I have diagnose the 'problem' myself.

The fact that headlamp connection is used is because when keyed on, the voltmeter start with the Hdlamp lights on. Voltmeter monitoring of your battery would never be accurate.

Not sure what you meant by "idling ac"..never heard of that unless you are saying that the alternating current (ac) is lower during bike idling condition. It takes at least 2.5k rpm to 3k rpm and above to initiate trickle charging.

ok. will see if u can help diagnose anything. ya i mean when bike idling, the voltage shown after i ride for 20-30mins is much lower than when i just start my bike and ride for 1st 10mins like tat. i assume is when bike hotter then got this problem.

also dunno if my fan everytime on is related to this problem anot.

thanks ah pek. see u tml

If the engine is extremely hot over the coolant specification, the fan switch would be initiated (cut on) but has nothing to do being caused by lower voltage. Lower voltage is expected when fan cuts on. I suspected you may have more than one problem..in short, fan coming on could be a seperate issue..cooling system related.

Guys.. got a question..will ageing carbon starter damage or drain the batt faster too?As we stop and start the engine many times in a day.

My starter has not been servied for past 8yrs.

Not sure if that the cause for my batt volt to drop after overnight parking..:sian:

Anyway I just changed my batt to OEM type with red wordings (Made in Japan) for $65.

No...if new battery low again, either rectifier or coil.
