Read before buying a car

Who would wanna sue a car dealer if the amount is 5k or below? Would anyone pay even more money to pay for a lawyer to fight for the case when you might not even win the case because of all the terms and conditions in the sales agreement which are to their advantage. Terms such as

1) "colour of the car is subject to availability of the vendor"

2) "Assesories given by vendor is subject to the vendor and is considered freebies." meaning even if they include the cost of it in the package already, they can choose not to give it to you because of this term.

I will not be able to lay down all the terms here but if anyone who has encountered the same thing as me which I believe there are many, they will be able to understand.

Even when my car dealer is not able to deliver the car as stated by themselves on the sales agreement, they have breached the agreement and I told them I do not want the car anymore. They told me to write in officially to them but luckily I read that there is another term which says if I write in to cancel the agreement, I would be deemed the one who breached the agreement and I will have to bear all the expenses incurred by the vendor.

 

Even most car dealers know themselves that most buyers will not sue them and that is the loophole. Unless you are filthy rich and you want face more then money. But if you are filthy rich, then I dun think you will go to a PI to get a car slightly cheaper then from an authorized dealer.

 

Even when I called CASE up, the person was like " a lot of cases like yours. Want to fight this case also hard. Must see the terms and conditions cause most sales agreement, the terms are to the car dealers' advantage. Case may drag up to a year or so." So buying a car should be a happy thing. Why should I pay and cause misery to myself for 1 year????????????????????????????????????????????????

 

Anyway I checked with many PIs and the price that they quote me was the most attractive compared to others. In the end, I paid $53784 at COE $6200. Initially they quoted me $49000 meaning I had to pay $4784 more out of nothing.....................

Yup buying car should be a happy thing but too bad not all PI are honest.

 

I will still visit my own PI even the price is slighty 1-2k higher but gurantee no hidden cost with car recieved is always a happy day to go with.

Hi guys, another hint go SGcarmart check out New cars -> search for Honda Fit -> Choose 1.3 G F-Package HID (A) -> There are only 2 PIs stated there. They advertised as a HID model but they did not give me the HID model in the end. Their price quoted there was the lowest with COE at $2000. During that time I wanted purple colour and therefore they said I had to top up $1000 for premium colour and also $2000 for full cash which I loaned from my parents but after paying downpayment of $5000, they did not bid COE for me. Thus my friend advised me to get a loan so that at least a bank gets involved. Thus they deducted $2000 but told me the price that F quoted was too low! It was advertised as such. If it is too low, then ain't they cheating all consumers out there into signing with them???????????? He told me to top up $2000 then they can give me the car if not it will be deemed as me breaching the contract. Paying full cash got penalty $2000. Never pay full cash which means I take loan also need to top up $2000. What kind of rubbish is this? In the end from the loan, they also tricked me into paying another $2500 extra by writing more in the monthly installment in the sales agreement. Anyway just gotta be more careful for those first time buyers or maybe even car owners who are thinking of changing a new car. You never know what kind of tricks this PI can be up to. Somemore the so called director also claims he has seen all kinds of police reports made against him which means I believe many people has reported to the police against them before. Even when Supermarkets advertise wrongly in the prices, they still have to sell the item at a loss to consumers. But in this scenario, it seems they did in on purpose but to cheat buyers. And for your info, there are 7 sales person in this PI out of which 4 of them spoke to me and served me whenever I went down on different occasions and tried to "tok" more out of me. Most of my friends told me they never encountered such things.

Bro, actually i think you shd make this thing big, like go to sub court(small claim) or what.. Happen to me also.. That sales bugger try to con me after the agreement, i dun give in to him thus go to sub court.. No doubt its time wasting but i make them realise that dun everytime try to cheat 1st time car buyer.. In the end i can get car within 5 days after the court session.. Everything done up swee swee (got some free accs some more) as i told them even if got minor scratches i also will reject the car.. But what advice i'll give is that IF POSSIBLE, try go to agent.. Or get recommendation from your friend.. PI tends to hide some clause here & there.. Or without proper explaination..

Now I am facing another problem................................ My car installment Giro they never help me submit. Nearly kena towed. I din know. Nvm I ownself submit it. Another big problem, they never register my In-Vehicle Unit (ERP) for me and just within less then 1 month, it is faulty and I went VICOM and they say not registered under my vehicle and I can kena charge for using another vehicle's In-Vehicle unit. Ask me quickly go get them to change a new one for me.

 

Unable to contact the so called director D but managed to get one of his cardealer J and he says not yet start work. Will only get back to me after go back to work. He says this problem is created by the car supplier. They should be the one who register it for me. But they are the ones who sell me the car, isn;t they supposed to do everything sui sui for me? His statement made me call up the car supplier who is also a more reputatable PI and they say they only supply the car. Nothing to do with them.

 

Then I also managed to get the other director K. He says will help to solve for me ASAP. Now after 3 days already, I am still waiting for them to solve this issue for me...............and they assured me by Monday or latest Tuesday will change another In-Vehicle unit for me. Now the negligence caused by them has caused me much convenience - unable to enter ERP area and trips down to VICOM and calls to enquire with LTA on how to go about resolving this....

Sorry to hear this. There are lot of horror stories from consumers who buy cars from PI.

 

Personally I still prefer authorised dealer to handle things. Pay more a little and get less problem.

This is a clear case of fraud. I suggest you bring it to court (not CASE). The judge has the power to nullify the agreements (which are made under the law of Singapore). You have a winning case and you can ask the judge to order the PI to pay all legal cost, lost earnings (by not going to work to attend court, etc) and damages.

 

Don't let the PI get away. This kind of businesses ought to be punished seriously.

i think this kind of case shd not give in in the very first disagreement. if for me i thik i will make so many phone calls to make sure that they are wrong den i will persue the matter no matter wat. if i know i am right, i sure want get back wat i deserve.
