No bike is problem free for 100k, no matter the brand. I have had my fair share of bikes, some with >100k mileage. The most unreliable bike was a 4-year-old Suzuki with 20+k on the meter. Relatively new, low-mileage... but many problems. It was the total opposite of the >180k 12-year-old Bandit it replaced.

Having said that, I'm still a Suzuki fan.

So far I have good experiences with Suzuki and Honda..But some bike models are curse with problematic part, like the famous TPS problem on 04-06 R1, magnetic coils on the 04-06 CBR1000 just to name a few...

Looks like TS is scared with all the "bigger scooters" problems being highlighted, no reply from him.. Probably end up keeping his 2B scoot..

Good looks, revolutionary design (MP3), user-friendly storage... but poor execution, usually. The Italians design great stuff on paper... but their factories... sigh.

They must have improved over the 10 years isn't it?? The same was said of Hyundai of yesteryears too.... But look at where they're at now....

Does anybody know the OMV for the Silverwing SW-400T??? I know the OMV for Kia Picanto is around $8-9k.... Haha. Just wanna compare the difference.....

as a matter of fact, no bike can give 100% problem free even when its very new :p

my SW's magnetic coil gave way in less than 10k kms on the road from the factory.

sometimes its up to lady luck that things simply go kaput, just that some manufacturers have good designs and QC to "suppress" that factor better than others :)

Not in my book. Check with current MP3, X8/X9 owners. Vespa is better, but there are a few models with widespread issues. But I'll give Piaggio this. Their models today are a real step up from Hexagon days.

Piaggio wins on luggage space, styling, price and to a lesser extent, an agent that deals in volume. Engines are a disappointment though. The Japanese make the best power-trains.
