Ok another certified aprilian now.just got e bike like 30 mins ago and now in sch. Ok intention is I have a few questions..

1. Where can I get e tank for 2t? As I got e bike apparently previous rider cut it out to make it as a storage compartment! So I'm currently on premixed which I find troublesome..planning to head down to ah seng tmr morning thought he might have?

2. Is there any way I can hang my helmet at e side cause there's no metal hook thingy like sp and kr and 125z does..(bikes I've ridden) love 2 strokes man..is there like some way u guys improvise to hang ur helmet.

3. Normally I'll pump psi 30 for rear and 28 for front. it doesn't feel good so I did 35 rear and 33 front. What's pressure u guys ride on?

So far that's e only question I have..I believe u guys will have greater knowledge on e Italian beauty..! Bike is all plain black for now..was quoted 180 for full decal at 219..bit first things first is to get e mechanism to be all fine..thanks in advance guys..

1. I think I might have a 2ndhand one. But not sure if it'd fit your bike. Mine is from the older model. You can check with Ah Seng.

2. I dunno about this. :)

3. I usually pump 210 front, 200 rear. I like the front to be higher for a sharper turn in. The manual online has the recommended factory tire pressures.

It's good that you know you need to sort out the internals before starting on the exterior. I think you must have read quite abit of this thread already. :)

I wont be sticking around Ah Seng for very long tmr. If you still want to meet me, it'll have to be early, say about 10plus. :) Let me know.

Hi all, just got back from the hospital and had a talk with Sharul's family.. For nw, they're trying to limit the number of visitors as he is going to undergo a major surgery this Fri and wouldn't want him to be in contact with ppl that might cause him to have fever b4 the surgery.. Appearantly his injuries are severe.. Try not to visit him but pray for him instead.. Maybe when his transfered to a normal ward then we can all gather and visit him together.. Ride safe everybody..!

In response to my previous post,

This document is intended to Aprilians who is getting the 34mm Carb for the first time.

....

Now for people who is getting either carbs, please get a lower rating atomizer first. The carb comes with a DP266 atomizer which is proven to be too rich irregardless you are running filterless or with filter. I'm currently using a DQ264 atomizer which had removed my 5k to 6k rpm flatspot totally (IMO).

Now you many wonder what is the difference between a DP & DQ atomizer. The DQ is slightly longer than a DP atomizer (around 0.5cm). **TBC** So at the same rating (e.g DP264 vs DQ264), a DP series will runs richer than a DQ series.**TBC** I can't advise on which series to get as i haven't try both out myself yet but as long as you downsize yr atomizer, it will run better.

http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/dellorto_guide/fig23.jpg

Usually the atomisers on Carburetor s intended for two-stroke engines are manufactured in two types: with either long or short upper parts (figure 23).

The atomisers with longer upper parts cause a weakening of the mixture at low speeds and during acceleration from low speed; on the other hand, atomisers with shorter upper parts produce extra enrichment. Carburetor s for racing motor cycles use atomisers with short upper parts.

Quoted from Dellorto Tuning Guide & special thanks to subzero who found it.

So basically to sum things up, DQ series are slightly leaner than DP series and it improves engine response at low speed.

However i believe there are always drawbacks. Well until i get my hands on a DP264, this shall be the conclusion for now.

I look forward to your complete writeup. Good stuff bro. I always prefer to rely on facts, rather than hearsay. Even what we read from other forums might not be accurate, we need to be precise. All this information will be put up in the new forum when it comes about.

I wonder why the official Dellorto website doesnt explain the actual functions of the various parts of the carbs they sell. A pity.
