Hi guys,

 

needed some advice.

i am getting myself a RS125 2nd hand.

what should i look out for?

i dont want to have lots of problem later..

 

any one can advise me what important parts to look out for.

 

mods of the bike:

34mm carb

full system arrow exhaust.

open port K&N air filter.

why do you want to buy from shop when it is better to buy from private seller?

Because im doing a trade in. Shop take in my spark at 3.8k (FBE) Plate.

They selling the FBD rs125 at 8.6k with some minor mods. Exterior condition 8/10.

But internal i dont know how to check. So seeking advise from u guys expert here. I wanna join the aprilla family. Lol..

Internals are quite standard, the important part are hidden. There are nothing to see except for 2t tank, air box, battery, coolant tank and carburettor which most of the time are ok.

 

My advise to you is to bring it to a mech to change engine and gear oil, clean the valve and carb, change new battery and spark plug.

Subsequently If there is any issue then change the respectively part. Be prepared to put aside some $$ for repairs.

 

BTW 8.6k for a RS125 sound expensive, I rather buy a RS250 with changes for mod or repair.s

Hi guys, i wanna ask something about the power valve inside my Aprilia im riding a Tuono 125 2004 and some times it feels aas if as the power valve doesnt open even thoughmy rev is at 8-9k. usually i can feel it open quite early and i can definately feel the pull of the bike but if its stuck then my bike feels really sluggish. the vibration feels like im doing 120km/h but actually im just barely doing 80. hope some one can help me, thanks.

 

fyi, im using semi-synthetic engine oil (just changed) and 30mm carbs (installed by previous owner)

If you realli haveto buy from shop, there is Mah bike shop along serangoon rd which you may have to pay a premium for their bike.

In my personal opinion it may be better to get it from the sales forum, cheaper and probably in better condition.

got my rs already. But my speedo was doing fine until the next day. the speed won't on the speedo will only stay at 0 even when my bike is moving. rpm is doing fine. any ideas whats the problem?

its also under Mah Pte Ltd.. i noe alot of people saying their prices are quite steep.. well, my personal opinion is: y listen to others? head down and find out for yourself. go ahead n compare prices.. just my 2 cents..

Its the speed sensor which is attached to the rear disc brake, below the silencer. it may be loose or dirty so u can try shaking/ tighten/ clean it abit..i did that before and it was fine till today. If that won't work means it really spoilt and just need to replace the speed sensor set. can get frm Ah Seng 37 Motoring ard $120 if not wrong.

Hello aprillians. I am riding a rs125. Every time I start my bike early in the morning or after a long break and try to shift from neutral to gear 1 it either stalls or the machine will keep inching forward when I have the gear at 1 and clutched in fully. The funny thing is everything will be back to normal when the temp bar hits 3 bars. Has anyone experienced the same problem as me? If u do, what did u do to solve the problem?

Bro I'll suggest rs125, really a good bike if u treat it well! No doubt about it. Serve me well for my 2B time.. Very good for cornering with those fat tyres.
