Was at Kallang Mac earlier this evening, didnt see anyone there. Then I was at West Coast Park Mac's. Didnt see anyone either. hahaha....

Yag,

Yeah, I got the ATC2K, only to find that Oregon has a newer ATC3K... :dot:

Resolution is pretty decent in the day, but at night you only see streetlamps, nothing else.

I just tested it for vibration. Its steady until revs hit 9,000rpm and above under hard acceleration. Wind buffeting around it causes slight vibrations but its tolerable until above 140kph.

I mounted it on the right air intake for my 1998 Replica, with millimeters to spare from the right throttle control clip-on. Thinking of mounting it on my left fork stanchion tube.

You wanna test it out before you make yr purchase? I wont be in Singapore so no time to test it. Why don't you pick it up from me and do a short term review till I get back?

PS: there are plenty of ATC2K videos on YouTube. But I'll post my test vids there soon.

hello all.. anyone here have any experience with Aprilia RS125? I'm very interested in getting one. but need feedbacks from any rs125 owners here.

the only downside i can think of is the potential problem of the bike cannot start due to over-exertion of engine on the previous day. is this true? can anyone tell me the downside of rs125 before i buy one blindly?

thanks for your time!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaaa ROFL

Mechanical engines are quite different from the human body's biomechanical functions. Engines shut down from "over-exertion", also known as DAMAGE. Once damaged, they must be repaired. You can't park it overnight and expect it to heal.

Buying an Aprilia is a lot like buying a Hermes Birkin bag. If you have to even ask about the price, you can forget about buying it. The people who buy US$25,000 Birkin bags don't even bat an eyelid when they make the purchase. If you have to consider about price, FORGET APRILIA. This bike will drain the last penny out of you.

I service and tune my own bike, hence I spend about $600 per year on my bike ($350 on tyres; $100 on chain & sprockets, $100 on 4 bottles of 2T, $50 on 2 pairs of front brake pads since I never use rear brakes). My valve hasn't broken yet, and my spark plug is changed once a year $8.50 for NGK B9EGV.

The rest of the riders here spend a lot more on unreliable mechanics.

sorry la if i sounds stupid. cos i sincerely wanna know more about this bike. i read somewhere that it will be harder to start in the morning if u whack it hard the day before. due to the fact it being a 2-stroker as well. I don't know if it apply to 2-strokers in general or just RS125. as i had never mentioned, noway a bike could be left overnight to be healed already the next morning.

did i ask about the price btw? sorry for my sudden lapse of memory loss cos im afraid i didn't remember asking for the price.

if you don't understand the point i'm trying to get at, lemme try again. i know that all bikes have their pros and cons. i've heard enough of the pros of RS125. but i need to hear about the cons.

i'm no rich guy who can buy any bike as i please, but with faith, i don't mind spending $500 every mth on maintanance and installment of the bike. the tough part being, of course, the cost the downpayment. so, by using the handbag analogy, if you're telling me i have to be rich to own my own Aprilia, I won't buy one. but i'll be more than willing to eat grass to finally own my own Aprilia.

when you say your valve hasn't been broken, what do you mean? what valve? and this is the kind of things i wanna know more. to lookout for any potential banana slips. thanks for pointing out the high cost of maintaining the bike in a year. will keep that greatly in mind.

hopefully when i finally buy it, my bike will not be in the hands of unreliable mechanics.

hi there. basically aprilia is jus another bike on the road. with the down side of things is that parts are much more expensive to get than jap production bikes. other than that u would like to take more care about your aprilia in the sense that try to rectify any problem that has occur asap. and also doing all the necessary things like find the correct mech to tune your bike and fix your problem. many ppl have come and go with aprilia. so jus say that it is a lousy as you often go to the workshop. everything breaks down. it jus depends whether you did your best to maintain it. sorry if lacrimose sound hostile or what. (haha lawrence) thats jus the way he is. all that you had asked had actually been discuss before in the forum. if your are sincere enough about learning you can look up and start reading from the very first page. thats quite a bit to read but better than nth. other than that you might want to join us in one of our outing if you can so that you can learn more face to face and ask all your question that you want to. as for the valve it is something that the rs125 have. one of the more common problem is the valve breaking. without the valve your rs125 is powerless. lolx. to prevent breaking the valve your can wash your valve at shops or DIY. this can be learned at DIY session organise by lacrimose himself. hope i answer your enquiries.

Firefox87,

I'm not laughing at you, cos we've all been there before. We have to start from zero. If you are interested to know more about the cons, join me for DIY, I'll be happy to share my experiences with you.

Blastedgal,

None of us learnt to ride well overnight. Experience comes with time. People want you to learn from their mistakes, cos some mistakes are painful to learn from. Perhaps its the delivery of the lessons that was poorly executed, hence leading to you feeling like you can't keep up.

Anyway, just want to share with everyone a video on youtube on the Oregon Scientific ATC2K sport camera test. I hope you enjoy it.

Wow.. just reach home 30minutes ago and just realise it's past midnight liao.... And i might have to go back office tomorrow.. why my work life suddenly so miserable one... Then i dunno where to park, coz i paranoil to park in my office building's carpark.. the exit is down slope with hump then must look out for car on the right and quite a tight left turn right after hump..

Scared uh.. really scared.. Dunno how to rid the fear... If downslope no hump i am fine.. if downslope got hump, no need to look out traffic (as in one way) also me quite ok.. but this one, i scared..

Lawrence, thanks for the encouragement bro.. I know everyone meant well... And they care, that's why they correct me - whether it's the right xpression or delivery of the message was right becomes secondary, I guess..

Oh well.. The least I can do is to keep trying and giving my best...
