how strong is the rs250? how does it differs from rs125? and what plate is the latest one from rs250? can gimme some info, feedbacks, drawbacks about the rs250? the fc, power, top speed and whatever info else la. i know zero about rs250.

I've been hearing low resale value ever since I started telling friends that I wanna get that bike. But frankly speaking, how low is low? Anyways, I took a casual stroll at Bukit Merah in the evening. Out of so many shops, I only see 1 Spains No1 bike right in the middle of the whole row of shops. Didnt even ask if it has an owner or not as I was there to look around abit before I head back.

the value of ya bike depends on condition lor ... Mileage whether u did overhaul and stuff ... Best if all ya partts stock ...

I've always used that whacking of the throttle as one of the methods to test my tuning, but it never occurred to me to use it to test for tuning or compression during a bike viewing before purchase!

 

Rich carburetion, aside from cleaning carburetors, also means more frequent valve cleaning, spark plug changes, and top overhauls. That's why I run extremely lean now. My 10 yr old track-going bike is also a 30km/L sipper.

 

It must have been Aaron talking about optimal compression range because it sure wasn't me! haha.... Anyway, I once had my block skimmed and used a longer piston which increased my compression drastically.

 

The result?

 

Increased torque throughout the powerband, incredible acceleration, and the best part - blown head gasket every 500km.

 

The compression was so high that the gasket couldn't hold. My coolant would seep into the engine, giving my exhaust a white smoke. The oil seal separating the gear oil from the engine would vibrate itself out of place and my gear oil would be burnt off in my engine too, adding more thick, oily, white smoke to the noxious mix. I was booked by NEA for creating a Genting Highlands fog everywhere I went.

 

Sure, I had a hard-on every time I rode my bike, but as far as mods go, this proves more fun = more troubles (like women).

Low resale value could be depreciation of over 50% of purchase price. If you are not looking to keep the bike, like some of us, don't get this lemon.

Where's the oil leaking from? Scoots are pretty hardy machines, and I've serviced an Atlantic before; they don't break easily. You might wanna bring it back to the dealer to get it fixed, and if they push the blame on you (you don't know how to ride it; or you did something bad; or just the plain old "it's your fault, not us"), take it elsewhere for a proper fix. If you'd like a 2nd opinion, I could take a look at it when I'm in Singapore.

Thx for your input. I'm thinking of keeping one for at least 2yrs, up till class 2 license. Will see how attached I will be to the bike before I make anymore plans for class 2 bikes.
