Hi all:

Was thinking of getting an RS250. Any owners care to comment on maintenance cost of this bike. Like does the pistons/engine wear out v fast and the cost of such wear and tear repairs?

anyway guys, im having a odd problem with my tyres

 

yesterday after i went home after a long journey, i checked out the tyres...it was very HOT n the texture was a bit rough...dono wat happened so i went home. the tyre was slippery also

 

den this mornign woke up wanted to ride bike but it was deflated for no reason! struggled to the petrol kiosk to pump air in, then poured water on the tyres to check for leaks, but coudlnt find any! no foreign objects either

 

wat's spoilt? any help is appreciated, thx!

did you use soap water??

if not, most likey it's the header leaking..

my bro got it changed for 5$ at HKL..

i'm not quoting the best price to fix it.. but how much my bro was charged..

For the last time, THERE IS NONE. ok?

Not at the moment.

 

While we have done all we could on our part ('we' as in, people who bothered writing in to LTA, rather than sit around whining about why LTA doesnt approve Arrow, like most other people around here), BikeTech21 has tried to bring in documents pertaining to emission standards from Aprilia, Italy.

 

This will take a while, and even though BikeTech21 has promised that it will allow Arrow to be legalised for all Aprilias here in Singapore, dont count on it.

The documents are 'supposed' to arrive in 1-2mths, BikeTech is suposed to be the only dealer to bring in Arrow for Aprilia (which Ideal has failed on many attempts - again, cant take their word for trying), LTA (being a gahment organisation) will take another couple of months (or LIFETIMES) to review them and approve (or reject) them. We still have to wait at least 4-5 months before we can fit legal Arrow pipes here

 

Ergo, we may never be able to fit street-legal Arrow pipes here. So, unless you're willing to risk $500 (first offence), and $700 (second offence) for fitting an Arrow illegally, you'll have to wait 4-5 months (or lifetimes, so maybe your grandchildren may be able to fit Arrow) for LTA to review the emission documents and decide to approve or reject it.

 

In the meantime, gentlemen.....

And you guys wonder why a simple process like taking a sample pipe, and fitting it on a sample bike.... then setting it all up with emissions and sound sensors (the type you see at every bike inspection) just to get a printed readout to determine the CO & dB values of the pipe on the bike.... takes so damned long and so much trouble??

 

Let's just attribute it to the abovementioned. BUREAUCRACY and RED TAPE.

 

 

The technical department can do all these things in less than 20 minutes.

 

The bloody paper-pushers are the one that drag their feet, and drag you through the mud. They want proof from the bike manufacturer. They want proof from the pipe manufacturer. Then they want another country or region's (E.U. emission regulation) papers abt the pipe on the bike... etc etc etc.

 

All this to cover themselves before they sign on the dotted line.

 

When actually, being a regulatory body themselves, and supposed experts on vehicle safety here, they can simply make their independent judgment call based on their own observations and tests.

 

 

It's amazing isn't it?
