lacrimosae, count me in. gloves is a must when it comes to riding. and jacket too! the blog offers not bad apparels at a budget price. not bad find!

I am not the organiser of this PMO. Please add your details to the list in that PMO thread itself. I'm not going to do it for you.

But I already have a set, gloves, armoured jacket & fullface helmet.. i think the pants will be a good edition to it too.. :|

I think the Cordura pants is a good investment. These apparel are manufactured and sold to the PMO organiser before the brand is put on it. Marketing and branding means that production costs may be US$20, but retail is US$299.

Waterproofing will come in handy in our monsoon season. Even if it isn't as good as advertised, at $89, still quite a good buy. I don't mind writing off a brandless pants at $89, instead of writing off a branded (eg. A-St*r, Dain*se) US$299 pants exactly the same but with the BRAND stitched on it.

The sizing too big for me... I need a kids' size by the look of it.. :dot:

I doubt you need another pair of gloves. By the way, could I have my gloves back until you have paid them off? I don't feel comfortable with our current arrangement of you keeping them without completing the payment. Thanks.

Yeah, we do have stock for our bike, but its those wet cells, the MF ones will be coming in next month, u guys interested?

Varta MF batteries? Cool! I want!

Now we can only hope that those selling these Maintenance-Free batteries know WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING.

Commissioning errors are aggravated by the fact that these batteries are delivered dry-charged with their own individual special acid cellular pack, the acid being of a higher concentration & density than standard battery acid. This acid has to be allowed to trickle from it’s special pack into the battery slowly, to avoid trapping bubbles, then the battery has to stand while the acid is fully absorbed before being given a pre-delivery 30 minute charge. All of this takes a good hour, an irritating delay both for the impatient customer & the dealer trying to satisfy him while also attending to other things. The inevitable tendency is to short-cut the correct procedures & this results in an under-par battery performance & an early warranty claim, usually at the expense of the motorcycle importer or distributor. Field studies by motorcycle manufacturers have shown that around half of all MF battery warranty claims arise from errors in commissioning procedure.

1 part of me wanna keep the money and spend on someone

1 part of me wants the pants.

Err....Firstly, Varta refuse to make MF for our model as its getting obsolete. Thus we are bringing a new brand from China, they are producing our models in AGM MF. We tested their models before and found to be reliable and produce good performance. Brand - Optimax.

Secondly, I agree with on the installer's part. FYI, the acidicity level of the acide pack are usually 1.35SG slightly higer than acid available. In order for the battery to last, we recommend the following steps:

1. Fill the battery with the acid pack provided.

2. Do not seal the top immediately. This allows the hydrogen gas to escape via the top, preventing buldging on the sides.

3. The chemical will cause the battery to heat up, allow it to cool to room temperature.

4. When the batt has cooled to room temp, check its voltage, shld be reading at least 12.5V.

5. Seal the battery and install.

Does Varta offer any warranty on the Optimax AGM MF (Absorbent Glass Mat separator)?

I will not support China made products on principle, unless the products can be proven to have some QC standards upheld, and one of those indications is warranty coverage.

Poorly constructed products usually do not have warranty as the manufacturers know that their products are sh|t.

Hi Tknge , I think you're quite good with our bikes.

Any idea how to make the bike very quiet and smooth? not so interested in power at this point of time.

Sell it and buy a powerless 4-stroke Yamaha YZF-R125?

It does look almost as good as, if not better than the newer model Aprilias!

Ok, on a serious note, if you don't like the sound of 2-strokes but insist on riding one (unfathomable, really), try repacking your exhaust endcan, adding noise-damping foam over the entire interior of the fairings, and richening your mixture. Rich carburetion will ensure that your combustion is very suffocated and boggy, and will sound very weak and muted. This can be very easily done by any mechanic in Singapore.

lacri, up to his naughty tricks again... Let me solve this noise issue once & for all..

only need to do three things..

1: turn the key to the left. leave it alone.

2: wear earplugs if u insist on refusing step one.

3: one up yourself by wearing earphones, play some music & open your eyes really wide while on the road. drink red bull from Austria half hour before riding for better effect.

hahahahahaha.... turn key to left.

Seriously, Jamie, earplugs are recommended to safeguard against wind blast and engine noise. I have a lot at home. If you need, can pass to you about 10 pairs.

Really?!

Going to check out the thread now... I probably shouldn't add any oil to the fire, should I?

Ok I shouldn't.

I think the bike looks good, but the power is a big disappointment. I tried it out in Switzerland. The handling in the windy mountain roads is great, but because it was so weak, I had to test its cornering abilities going downhill, as it was going too slow when crawling uphill. And I weigh a mere 55kg.
