Gents,

Was wondering if anyone knew if the fairings on the 2009 version is about the same (or different) than the 2006 - 2008 version? The guys at Sharkfinz are saying it may be slightly different.

Quickslvr - have checked for you in my correspondence with Sharkfinz. They do not do the fairings for the older bike as the old RS125 wasnt popular in the US (Sharkfinz is based in America). For that matter, only the 2009 version RS125 is available in the US. They were carrying on about it not being road legal etc.

Eddy you fierce lah, uR da maN~!! U literally rode it till its head fell off hahAhaHahahaaa!!!

clean exaust vlv and carburetor regularly once u feel power drop @ 5000-6000 rpm and pick up agn above 7000

our exaust vlv opens ard 7000-8000 rpm, to prevent carbon accumulate n seize e vlv. b4 off e engine, blow a bit.

i dont know where u learn this but go ahead and blow before turning off ur engine. it will hurt ur piston and block.

EDIT: sorry i didnt read the post after that. apologies.

Clear carbon? Running or washing?

Hmm... shooting up to the stars kindda type.. I haven't been pushing my bike.. only manage to open valve for like 4s at most and like Isa, I haven't service my bike in ermmm 2 months.. so, cleaning the bike inside out would be an excellent idea..

usually when riding, normal speed is 90 @ expressway n the rpm is ard 7000.so i dont get ur logic after long ride n if u keep rpm low.its like trying to say ride @ 40km/h n maintain 2000rpm.

Nope bro, e rpm when ya ride @ 90km/h is slightly less than 6000 if u r on e sixth gear. N if travel on normal road, e speed is less than 90 n a lot of time e rpm is less than 7000 if u r not a aggresive rider. in this case e 2T might stayed ard e vlv n make it sticky.

I've rode 06 model for 2 yrs, not sure abt e rpm for e 05 model or older. This did work on my bike. Initially I have 2 clean my vlv every 2000km or so, now I 4000km then clean once 2gether with e carb n change gear oil.

No obligation. Jus wan 2 share my experience. N do pls correct me if I brought in e wrong idea n mislead new riders.

more frequent is better than not doing at all, la i think.. It all comes back to individual, if they cn find time to do it or otherwise.. I know most of us (me inclusive) is just plain lazy..

Heh :D

Alot more things need to be done. Saving up to do top and bottom overhaul, respray my bike to a less cuter colour, add some decals, change pipe to either arrow or giannelli system. Target to complete everything by the end of the year.. :(

So much money needed, so little pay I'm getting.. :(

Then head into JB once in awhile. Go Ah Gua Lane and get them to wash your bike. RM$10 for wash and wax. Not bad too.. I just prefer to clean it myself since I have this buffing machine for the wax. Bike on side stand, my gloves will slide off if I leave it on the tank. :D

Titanium? Sounds good. Is it still legal? How much does it cost (if you happen to know)

hi there. need guidance from people who knows very well on powervalve. I just change my powervalve and realize some points.

1) Is the valve stem seal very tight when inserted the valve through it ? Do i need to put any lubrication on that area ?

2) The O-ring in the valve body, what purpose it does? (from the position the O-ring locations, i dont know how useful it is.)

3) Lastly, the rotax words on the valve body should be facing up or down when installing back? (meaning the hole on the valve body is facing up or down?)

Cheers ('',)

1) Its usually tight but not to the point where the valve stem cannot slide thru.

2) I dont understand

3) Once you hook the wire into the valve, Turn the valve 180degrees.

2) the O-ring prevents leakage in the valve housing

3) i cant remember the rotax words face up or down, but ensure the chamfered edge of the valve is facing down.

thanks IZE and Quik for the reply.

1)as i understand the stem seal is abit tight. i put abit of lub oil to make it slightly smoother.. hope nothing's gonna happen.

2)ohh.. haha.. dont know how it act as a seal, but just leave it as it is..

3)is there any particular reason for the chamfered side to face down? *i mean what if installed facing up? or isit the body design is made this way?*
