please check your speedocable located below your meter connecting to your front wheel. check whether it is loose or detached. if it is, tighten it.

oh, gosh! the cable looks fine... i guess i have to go to a bike shop to repair it... just did a servicing the day before yesterday... sigh....

The cable from the bottom end, top end, and entire length is fine? No fraying, breaks, etc?

Checked the cable for current transmission using a hand-held voltmeter?

Is your bike the 07 RS, Y2K model, Replica or Extrema model? They use different systems.

By '0' do you mean the rpm on the tachometer (on the 07 and older models), or the speed on the speedometer (on the Y2K and older model analogue meters)?

Replacing a cable is a fast and straightforward task that will save you a lot of time and money by doing it yourself instead of sending it to a bike shop.

As long as you can determine which model is your bike and what part is not working.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Hi people,

Just an update on the items left:

1. Key Ring - AP8720102 - 0

2. Patch - AP8720104 - 0

3. Neck Strap - AP8720106 - 0

4. Red Baseball Cap - AP8720108 - 3

5. Black Baseball Cap - AP8720109 - 2

6. Shoulder Bag - AP8720059 - 0

7. Backpack - AP8720112 - 2

8. Hoodie White (Size L) - 894386 - 1

I hope you guys understand that I'm not doing is as a business. I simply bought a few extra pieces for you guys in case a few of you might be interested to get Aprilia merchandise.

Hence, I have very limited stock (only 1 or 2 each), and I'm unable to reserve them as there are many requests for me to do so. I mean, how do I choose who to reserve the last neck strap or key ring for? :p

If you can get it sooner, let me know. Those who didn't get what you wanted because someone else bought it, don't fret, I'll try to make another trip to Manchester again. Who knows, if the guy recognises me and thinks I'm a regular, he might give me a better deal next round?

As I have mentioned before, I'm not comfortable with leaving my number in a public forum so if you are interested to get any items, I will PM you my number so that we cam make arrangements.

Cheers!

I'm staying in tampines. Actually the polishing of the swingarm and bodyframe consumes most of the time lah. My old aprilia bodyframe really terrible cos i never took much attention. Now got the new one really gotta take care. Love her, and she'll 'perform'. :thumb:

Fyi, i wash and polish bike once a week. Wah can faint man. Hehehe... :dozed:

Just remember that when you post in a public forum, many people will be able to access it and read your posts. Therefore, you must be ready to back up on your posts, and be accountable for them. It like spreading rumours in the real world - Don't do it if you don't want someone coming to you and holding you to your word, or repeat something obviously erroneous. There are also people more knowledgeable in other countries who frequent our forums, so don't make ourselves look like idiots proliferating the forum with the junk our Asian uneducated mechanics brainwash us with.

When I was running the Aprilia Riders Club Forum which was a dedicated troubleshooting and DIY forum, we had thank-you letters from riders in UK, Greece, Spain, and even Italy. So watch what you write. It reflects on your character.

I just got home yesterday. Was at the shop on 19 June. Only got the parts I needed.

This is a good start. :clapping:

Always do some homework first. Look it up and have some info. That's how I started out - with zero knowledge. After buying tuning and maintenance books from Amazon and reading them in detail, I now know just a little more about my bike. But there's always someone who knows more than we do.

The internet helps by providing free knowledge. Chain cleaning is a headache but not if you have a paddock stand! :D You're welcome to borrow my stand if you'd like to.

Am intending to do an extended DIY soon. Carb wash and tune, and bike cleaning. I haven't cleaned my bike in 3 years. heh heh...

Cheers!

thx dude. I can arrange e shipping myself.

Normally what do you use to clean e chain? engine oil or petrol or cleaning solvent? i have e industial use achohol, can it be used to clean e chain? n how to dispose e oil n rags? these items can not be disposed anyhow into e dustbin.

where u stay bro? if near n e time allows wondering 2 learn from u when u DIY ur bike.

Tkgne , bestfriend!

Eh ask you. You know before you lift up your ooil tank , that would be a Wire connected to the base of the oil tank right? And that would be the wiring for the Fuel Sensor Indicator right?

Remember I mentioned to you that my starter motor melt before? , that freaking wirecable also melt.

WHICH MEANS I RIDE , NO FUEL INDICATOR WILL BLINK WHEN LOW ON FUEL.

Anywhere that i can purchase that thing?

Mah commited to me 3 months but haven heard from them ever since.

MOREVER , my sensor CABLE linked to the rear disc brake area has broken , i believe the return path RED WIRE broke. WHICH MEANS , NO SPEED DISPLAY = NO MILEAGE , + NO FUEL INDICATOR , opening the oil tank cap to look inside can be pretty misleading.

PLEASE KINDLY ADVICE NEXT COURSE OF ACTION.

Friend, u can try ultimate parts UK. e website is http://www.ultimateparts.net/
