Why you wanna switch off the headlight? If the cops spot you without headlights, it'll give em a reason to mess with you.

Plus, dont be a mat rempit poser with those neon nonsense la..

ohh.thx..i didnt noe it was called a flatspot..thx anyway bro.:cheeky:

so there is no way of removing the flatspot??

or like u all used to say..i must poison my bike alot than can remove?

I removed my flatspot through careful tuning on the 34mm. For me, I find it quite hard to remove the flatspot on the 28mm. But that's just my personal opinion. I'm sure someone out there may have had better luck than me...

ohhh.changing the carb got diff in FC eh??

i dont mind buying it..but ppl here say stock better..than scared to change only.any major prob i mite face if i change the carb?

There are things that are better to keep stock, and others better to have aftermarket.

Stock is Best:

- Piston: Rotax

- Cylinder: Rotax 125cc

- Conrod

- Electrical harness: No additional booster nonsense

- CDI

Aftermarket, YEAH BABY!!

- Brakes: steel-braided brakelines; full-float or semi-float disc rotor; proper race brake pads like Ferodo (NOT that EBC crap); Master Cylinder

- Carb: bigger is NOT always better. 34mm is just nice. Anything bigger is hard to tune, I know this from personal experience

- Rear Suspension: our stock ones suck, cannot be rebuilt, and has a short lifespan

- Front fork: internals can be upgraded to something with more adjustability

- Reed Valves

There's more but somehow people who read this forum have short attention span, so better keep my replies short. Most of them will have their eyes glaze over and their mind wanders to soccer after reading the 2nd line of any of my posts.

There are many who have chosen to ignore my advice at their own peril. hahahaha...

and bro..tonite or tmr i transfer the money alrite.i having my exams this coming week..so studying for tt..no tym to go posb there all..:cheeky:

Internet banking? Ask someone else to transfer?

Finally, another newbie who's gonna be so obsessed with removing the flatspot.. You're on your way to becoming another talented ride??? :p

Dont think about it too much. If you're good at handling your bike, most of the time you wont even feel that flatspot. Neither would you be hovering in the 5-6k rpm zone.

Yes, if you ride your bike correctly, your revs won't be within that flatspot range. Usually between 7,500-12,500 rpm.

:cheeky:i noe it wil be irritating if the same question is repeated all the tym.

sorry bro..so i just stick with my 28mm carb now=D:P

Yes, annoying and undeserving of a reply. haha

Just FYI, someone told me that if you get caught, it's a S$50 fine PER LED. If you have 10 LEDs in a strip, that's S$500.

Just because everyone's doing it does not mean that it is legal.

Usually TP will close one eye because the defence for having LEDs is to increase visibility. I have seen a TP on a bike ride past a Super4 with undertray lights with only a glance.

Hi guys,

Facing some problems with my 2003 aprilia rs125.

When the bike is moving, there is cracking sound coming from the rear wheel.

My guess is a spoilt rear wheel bearing or chain as the sound seems to come from there.

Anyone can help?

Also, i find moving off from stop very tough. Stalled countless times. Felt like the bike has no power at low rpms (currently i have to open up some throttle, hold half clutch around 3k rpm. when the bike moves than can clutch off and throttle). Most probably due to my clutch technique. Haven't really get use to the power of 2 stroke 125cc.

Lastly, would love to join in some DIY sessions and learn more about the bike.

Any rough guide of the essential tools needed?

Thanks!

Put down your side-stand, lift up your rear side of the bike, turn the rear wheel with your right hand. If you can't move, rear brake seized. If rear wheel is moving and still hearing cracking sound, maybe rear wheel bearing worn off. Next, check your chain roller rubber still in place? If not there, rear wheel bearing may be still fine. You have to determine yourself.

Clutching issue. Check your clutch cable tensioning. Can be adjust at lever or inside the crankcase cover. If cable tensioning ok, your clutch fiction plates may had worn off, may need to change.

Dont ask where to change. All bike shop can change. Preferred place are First motor, ideal, HKL, Teck thye.......

Hi tknge, thank you for your reply.

Checked the rear brakes and its fine.

Problem might be as you mentioned.

Will check again regarding the chain roller rubber.

As for the clutch, I dont think its slipping.

When I throttle at gear changes, the bike moves.

Just that I cant seem to get the bike to move off stationary like the other bikes I used to own (NSR 150 and Ducati monster).

Dropped by First Motor today but Ah Seng is not around.

Was told he will be there tomorrow.

I guess I will have to go back tomorrow and get my bike fixed.

no they are not... I cannot remember how much the price exactly was but that small one is one of the most responsive you can get in the market because one of the riders here got a cheaper one much bigger and the delay is like 1sec+ if you can go with the delay, you can go motorworld get the gear indicator but I have bad experience going there to install...

Clutch slipping can't be identify during bike on moves with normal/constant speed. It happen when bike is stationally or suddenly change in engine speed where a lot of torque is transferring. Unless the friction plate is total gone.

JK here ... The black Aprilia, we went out together with Hong Quan

Looking at your symptoms, first to check would be the carb (is it clean and is the jetting right) and also if the spark plug is in good condition

Lastly, would love to join in some DIY sessions and learn more about the bike.

Any rough guide of the essential tools needed?

- Spark plug opener

- Plastic & metal brushes

- (+) and (-) screwdriver, both stubby and long (at least 30 cm)

- Allen keys - 3, 4, 5 mm

- Spanners - 8, 10, 12

- Torchlight

- Adjustable spanner or monkey wrench

- Combination pliers

- Liquid gasket

- Paddock stand or wheel clamps (can buy a pair near LAB for

- Contact cleaner (3M 16-102)

You can get the above at Mustafa ... Coupled with a service manual and common sense, lots of things we normally pay to get done at a bikeshop can be DIY'ed

Termites = White Ants = White things on white bikes with white helmets

When termites eat wood, they do so silently - u dunno until the house comes down ...

When the other kind is hiding on the bridge with speed camera, they do so silently - u dunno until the letter reaches your house

See the similarity? Both kinds of pest are white though
