Time to repent of your Star Wars fanaticism and join me in the BSG gospel.

We gotta get ready for the fleet's arrival to Earth so that preparations can get under way to repel Cylon forces.

HARRR HARRR HARRR! You expect to fly around with those tiny wings??

This one is a poor copy of Star Wars X-Wing. :p

Over my dead body.I will not join BSG!

Star Wars fans dressed as storm troopers invade the 2007 Rose Parade. George Lucas' movies, including 'The Empire Strikes Back' (below) have helped spawn a 'May the Fourth Be With You' Day.

For some fans, it's the most important date in the universe. Happy “May the Fourth be With You” – also known as Star Wars Day – may be an unofficial holiday, but you’ll find it on the calendar of any self-respecting sci-fi lover.

To celebrate, Star Wars fans simply pun off the famed movie quote, "May the Force Be With You," although movie marathons have also been known to break out every May 4.

"It's nice that this particular date seems to observe and celebrate the power of the Force, and we're thrilled that Star Wars fans continue to find new ways to connect with a galaxy far, far away," said a Lucasfilm spokesperson.

"Of course, regardless of the date, the Force will be with us...always."

The six live action movies in the franchise have grossed $3.6 billion worldwide at the box office - and that doesn't take into account the billions more in DVD sales, toys and other products.

But, for fans, it isn't about dollars – the movies are a way of life.

"[1977's Star Wars] appealed to people at a time [when] things maybe weren't going great," Anthony Daniels, who played C-3PO in all of the franchise's movies, told the News in 2007.

"People wanted something to make them feel good...and boy, did it take them out of their environment!"

In what's sure to cause outrage across the galaxy, the Los Angeles City Council had officially declared Star Wars Day to be May 25th instead, based on the date that the original movie premiered in 1977.

Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2009/05/04/2009-05-04_star_wars_fans_celebrate_unofficial_holiday_may_the_fourth_be_with_you.html#ixzz0oUG5UtAE

Now tell me this.. DOES BSG got its own unofficial holiday?? HUH?? HUH?? :p

EAT THAT BSG!

hahahaha.... okok, don't shoot me.

Battlestar Galactica, originally called Adam's Ark, was conceived in the late 1960s by Glen A. Larson, the executive producer of the show. However, it was only aired starting in 1978, in the wake of the success of Star Wars (released on 25 May 1977).

In fact, 20th Century Fox (the studio behind Star Wars) sued Universal Studios (behind Battlestar Galactica) for copyright infringement, claiming that it had stolen 34 distinct ideas from Star Wars. Universal promptly countersued, claiming Star Wars had stolen ideas from the 1972 film Silent Running (notably the robot "drones") and the Buck Rogers serial of the 1940s.

Though many sci-fi films share similar technological designs for their machinery, they are vastly different in functionality.

Now that I've successfully gotten all Star Wars fans riled up enough to reveal yourselves, how bout supper tonight? heh heh...

I swear, if the light saber is ever invented, I'm gonna shove it up one of your orifice for supporting bsg

Been damn long since I handled a DSLR. And no, I dont mean Auto mode :D

Yeah. This Aprilia thread is the best kept secret cos they don't want new owners to be enlightened to the truth.

Spread the word girl! If you see other Aprilia riders wave hi and tell them about this thread!

At the rate we're spreading the word, we'll be famous in like 10yrs? :faint:

I don't expect to. Those colonial Vipers are already doing so on their gimbal-gyro assisted thrust-vectoring platforms; instead of DEW (Directed Energy Weapons), BSG opted for KEW (Kinetic Energy Weapons) tech, making the whole Galactica premise more believable, more involving. It's kinda like watching an exciting documentary as opposed to watching a Sponge Bob episode while high on ISD, which is what Star Wars is like - totally out there and unbelievable.

I need some semblance of realism and logic to fool my mind into believing that I'm involved in the show. I wanna feed my fantasy that my existence is for a greater purposed, not just to suck on earth's air and become extinct in 60 year's time. It's my little form of escapism from reality which I can no longer get when watching SW.

Having a large following does not make it a good show. SW was not the first sci-fi flick of its time, but it was ground-breaking, I'll give it that. It captured the hearts of millions of geeks worldwide, many of whom are still die-hard fans until today. I was one of them. Until I saw better shows that was able to draw me into them on a deeper level, on a more sensible and logical level, which my mind craves. That was when I realised I've outgrown SW.

Now tell me this.. DOES BSG got its own unofficial holiday?? HUH?? HUH?? :p

EAT THAT BSG!

Look at Harley Davidson. Aside from models like the XR1200 (which I like), and V-Rod, most of the rest of the line are still running on 1950's tech, which is honestly, crap. Only thing that works is the marketing.

But still, they have a huge cult following of rich people with more money than sense. It still does not make HD a great bike, just a sellable one. Albeit a caramel-coated manure.

I swear, if the light saber is ever invented, I'm gonna shove it up one of your orifice for supporting bsg

I'm heading over to your place now. We're gonna have a showdown tonight.

Well, there was a huge bunch of SQ girls there last night, so I was quite happily entertained till I had to crash.

Been damn long since I handled a DSLR. And no, I dont mean Auto mode :D

I only shoot in Manual mode. Auto is for girls.

That was a poor, unflattering shot of Sharon Valerii and I'm sure you must have searched the ends of the world for that. She looks much better even in stills from the show.

Actually I'd give up the entire human species for Number 6.

OK, fine.

But look at Tricia Helfer's perfectly chiselled facial features and sculpted calves. I used to do digital image manipulation for an ad agency, so I'd know what's been touched up and what's not, compared to unedited photos on Tricia's fanblogs (by people who took photos with her at live appearances). Minimal touch up required.

She's a Cylon, and perfect in every way, I tell you.

I'm gonna lend u my BSG collection. You're next in line after Vik.

I'm the kind I'm rather quiet and easy going but you know what the best part was? I went down after like the 3rd time and asked them to settle the problem once and for all and when I asked if I should pay, they told me yes even thou it was they're fault and that my bike was still under warranty. Told me must pay for some service, of cuz I insisted I'm not gonna pay. And when I went back to collect my bike, and asked what the problem was, the girl at the counter shouted and asked the mechanic and the mechanic who didn't know I was at the counter actually replied "Who? The girl with the rs125? That ah lian that didn't want to pay ah?" :dot: The counter girl quickly shushed the mechanic but it was too late, when asked they denied saying anything like that.

He told me it was my valve and he cleaned it already and no problem, so I got my friend (more experienced in riding) to test ride it one round, and guess what I have no idea why he mechanic touched my rear brake pedal and no matter how hard you step on it there was no brake at all!! We told him abt it he touch here and there a bit then say ok already but still so little brake. Fed up I left and asked my friend to do for my instead. So I decided to never go back there again. I only went there as they claimed if I went else where my warranty would be cancelled and that they are the experts for aprilia.

I'm sorry. I had no idea you were a girl. This would explain why they were so complacent too.

Next time bring someone from the forum here to talk to them. If you ever do go back there is. :)

I highly recommend Ah Seng from First Motor. Most of the guys here go to him. And it's best if you bring along someone familiar too so they can assess your bike and explain to you what is wrong after it's diagnosed.

Long time since we had a female rider. Our last female rider is currently oocupied with her new love. Hehe.

Hmm... I'd agree that Leia Skywalker is overrated and that Natalie Portman is much more desirable.

Nathalie Cox also looks great, but can't say the same for her CGI clone, which looks nothing like her real life body double.
