Who is this cynic? You make him out to be like some total a$$hole but in my opinion your 'tips' are just basic human decency. Things that you would do for another person...

Just happens that the younger generation got the brunt of bad parenting, hence all the new Gen-Y kids have no initiative, no basic courtesy, no sense of responsibility and accountability, expect to be spoonfed, afraid of getting hands dirty and breaking a fingernail or two, and just think they own the world, or the world owes them.

LoL!

That fella lah.. Everytime kpkb about people that 1... But really lah. Some people not automatic 1 wat..

Some are so closed off from interacting with others to the point that they feel awkward to even smile and say HI. I tend to disturb these kind of people alot more then I normally do with others.

Oh yea, btw. I posted the pics like in the first few posts of this page. Those are unedited, straight up original from camera > memory card > pc. :D

Aye.... And maybe some cynics can be a bit too hard on those with no people-skills.

I guess we all have much to learn from one another.

Of course, I do need to filter out the junk acquaintances from a stream of transient friends as my time in SG is so limited. Thus I believe in being myself and speaking my mind because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind.

Oh, and about those pics, yes, quite well taken. You're too modest. You should invest in a dslr.

Just curious.

Are we putting a cap to the amount of items being purchased? Just to let you know, PJME charges 45 pounds for items worth up to 250 pounds. After that, the shipping increases to 105 pounds for any order amounting to more than 250 pounds.

So, IMO, this should be a huge order with alot of people ordering, so that the cost of shipping is truly reduced. If you're just getting a couple of screws like me, it'd be cheaper to order it separately i think. Just a couple of pounds. LOL.

Do take note Lawrence, so we can save more. :) i think we can wait for everyone to order something, then we can truly save.

EDIT: I just took a look at your order Lawrence. FIERCE!! You must have gotten a bonus. Gilles??? Racing carb??? Awesome!

No cap on amount. I want this order to be as big as possible. Maximum orders!!!

Racing carb, long time coming. Gilles rear sets because I need new pegs and stock ones are rubbish.

I am willing to extend the PMO if there are people interested in ordering parts.

As for bonus, nothing yet... :( Company not generous lah, all profits go to shareholders first then management. We get the scraps only.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Hi Matt! No worries lah.. The shell and mobil that I said I bought were all emergency cases. That 1 litre bottle of Mobil was left somewhere along the highway in Malaysia with like half bottle left. I hated the smell of that 'perfumed' nonsense so I know if anyone else was to be behind me, they would probably hate it too.

If in case you do have to buy an emergency bottle, please look carefully at the label. Make sure its fully synthetic before buying. Shell ones got 2 version. 1 is Full Synthetic while the other is Mineral. Read the label before you make that anxious purchase.

As for the DIY sessions, before the cynic fella make sarcastic remarks and scare you off, I may as well give you a few pointers you wanna take note and adhere to.

1) Turn up if you actually confirmed attendance. We dont want the cynic b!tching about you.

2) When in doubt, always ask.

3) Always bring your own tools, solvents and rags.

4) Always offer to buy him lunch or at least a drink. He's teaching you for free, but as a gesture of gratitude, buy the fella something.

5) Work on your own bike as much as you can. He wont even wanna touch your bike if he dont have to.

6) Try to read up on how 2 stroke engines work, how carburetor works and most importantly, your bike's service manual.

7) Enjoy yourself at the DIY. You'll tend to learn lots and pick up fast once you get an idea of how everything works. *That includes the cynic as well :p

pointers noted. and would definitely adhere to them =)

would just like to ask, what kind of tools and solvents are you referring to?

honestly, u do make him sound out like some kind of b!tch. but i believe he's not tt bad ya =) *looking forward to figuring out how the cynic works* =p

as for the confirmation of attendance on meetings and sessions, i'll try to let you guys know asap. coz im working shift work, and when im not on duty, im on immediate standby. =(

all tools, from allen keys to screw drivers to pliers/plyers however you spell it. all tools you'd think you'd need to undress the machine.. rags.. solvents that you'd use to clean up, like gt85, wd40, degreaser, etc.. bring what you have on the first DIY session, look at what others have got and brought, find out where they buy them and get them for the next DIY. =)

Dude, the gilles looks really tempting. But no money!! Btw, if i'm not wrong, it's free shipping at PJME if order exceeds 1000pounds!

Actually I've known about the race carb since a while back, just haven't done enough to the bike to need it yet. After you keep talking about it incessantly enough, that festering itch has become a full-blown desire. Now that it's been 6 years and after a lot of effort and money, there's almost nothing else left to be done to soup up that pocket rocket, I think it's time to give the race carb a go.

I kinda wonder what good is a race carb when most of the owners still refuse to give their rust buckets a proper do over. It's like putting a shiny new bell on a rusty tricycle - makes no difference.

As for the Gilles, I would prefer a Diamond Race but I kinda need new rearsets asap and cannot wait for the Diamond Race mass order. I might get the Diamond Race for my other not-so-racey RS125, my gf's bike.

I didn't know shipping is free for orders exceeding £1000. Who told you that?

I'll give Angela a ring to find out soon.

Regarding the shipping, if you make a purchase of anything 1000pounds or more, you're not charged for it. Mr Chung informed me. :)

Seeing the race carb on PJ made me drool, but holding it in my hands when edwin showed me, sealed the deal man! Saving up for it! It looks gorgeous..

Hahaha! People are weird when they're alone / lonely.

Eh about the pictures, I remember taking a few shots of the duomo in Milan too. And that castle further down the street although the castle looked damn boring.

Wooppss.. sorry la.. i finished work late on that saturday.. too tired.. and totally forget about the meet up..

I believe he meant the clutch plates / friction plates.

Bagster sell tank bra. Buy buy buy!! :shades:

But then again, your bike is a boy. Boys dont wear bra mah.. Unless its a bapok!! Have you been riding a bapok all along?? :p

Lets see..

Screwdrivers - & + all sorts of sizes and length

Allen Keys - 1 Complete set. But usually you'll tend to use only 3-4 sizes at most.

Spanners - Size 8 to 11

Pliers - Nose pin if possible.

Spark Plug Opener

Solvents - GT85 (I highly reccomend this compared to WD40)

Petrol from your tank - to wash the valve nicely

Soap, Wax, microfiber cloth, sponge - If you feel like washing your bike after working on it. Can prolly do the cynic's bike too. I remember seeing that little demon getting its 1st wash after 10yrs of terrorising the streets and tracks.

A small packet of cooking oil

A bar of soap. These 2 weirdest thing on the list is for you to wash your hands with. This has got to be 1 of the most valuable lesson that cynic taught me last time.

Rags - 1 old towel cut up into small 6inch by 6inch pieces

1 CLEAN towel to wipe your sweat / wipe your hands after its clean

thanks for the info =) really looking forward to learning from all of you.

btw, just wondering, are you the only female aprilian here?

There's amberxuan who posts here sometimes. There's a few more out there, but they dont seem to come here & post.

Bro, why waste GOOD, HARD EARNED MONEY on gilles? There's woodcraft. At least the pegs can interchange with ANY of their models if you happen to break them. Plus it wont cost you an arm and a leg when doing replacements, unlike gilles. (There you go, there's my poison arrow) :D

I can never be the only female riding this Italian machine.. I think there's like so many but inactive in forums, or somewhere hiding nicely behind a fullface refusing to pop a hand to wave and smile.

I would prefer to say, I'm the only active SBF member who rides an Aprilia RS125 who actually hang out with the boys in the thread.
