Hi fellow Aprilians,

 

We've heard positive reviews of Ah Seng, Teck Thye, Republic and negative reviews involving bike butchery from certain blacklisted shops.

 

Now here's my part in trying out a new location. I'll be trying out this new joint as my old friend works there - getting replacement parts from there too like front fairings, baffle, gear lever, speedometer sensor and servicing. For your info - this workshop is a sister company of the major butcher shop and you know what that means. But on the contrary, their mechanics service bikes simliarly to Boon Siew style - big open space with levers and clean working area. Also - cheaper aftermarket prices as compared to others.. I do hope to post a review of the workshop once everything is done.

 

(I try out different popular places randomly and its kinda good to know which are the better places to clean valve, service, labour charge comparisons - perhaps we could talk about this in the next coming Prilllia outing, though ive only been to a few..)

 

Any good advice for me, please keep the club posted ya.

To carbonize it, just ride it. The carbon builds up, voila! Carbonized!

Just FYI, Teck Thye does not do decarbonizing of exhaust.

Hi Guys..

 

I was spring cleaning my room, and found a box which was labelled "BIKE STUFF" and found the following which I would like to sell off to raise funds to counter my financial blues in every little way I can...

1) Crash Bobbins for RS125(bought from Ebay.co.uk)

- never been used before

2) Balancing gear (2nd hand)

3) Miniature of an RS250 (bought from Ebay.co.uk)

4) 2nd hand left side mirror for RS125

 

I also found Maxima Coolant more than half a bottle left.

 

Let me know if you want any of this, and pls be reasonable with your offers (if any).

Hi guys, i just got my rs125'09 last week. My bro went wif me to check and the bike was fine. However, i always have the problem of starting my bike in the morning. The red ! sign will light up and go off after a while and I will take like damn super long to start my bike. Then just today, the speedometer whole part dere totally wont light up at all, but i can still start my engine and go like normal.

 

So, any experienced one can recommend me any good shop which i can bring my bike for service/repair and also do an overall check on my bike to find out any other problem it has? Scared i get conned cuz im a total newbie in bikes >

U can ride it over to 37 Motoring at Eunos Technolink to have it checked? Or u can ride back to ur shop and bang table, asking them how come u just bought ur bike and so many faults? Isit new bike or used?

yep 37 motoring. I just went there last week, and its damn near my house. like 5 mins ride. lol.

Firstly, if your brother checked it out, and it's supposed to be fine, why so many issues then?

 

Get it sent to Teck Thye at Braddell Road. Excellent mech, quick fix.

 

I suspect it's loose wiring or a blown fuse which explains the unlit speedometer.

 

Difficult to start could be due to many issues EG cold weather, idling too low etc. Lacrimosae is more experienced, PM him about this.

 

Where did you buy your bike, and how much?
