hi,i have some problem with my bike. i was riding around 100km/h at gear 5. when i stop at the traffic light, my exhaust is giving out alot of smoke. for a few sec my area will be full of smoke, that kind of amount. and is those abit white colour smoke that can be seen. so i stop at the side, off my engine, and saw that my exhaust pipe is still giving out smoke, like something is burning. so i let it cool down till no smoke is coming out then i start the engine again, after that it was not giving out that amount of smoke.

Guys, do you know if any repair shop is open today? After a session of 140km/h, I got black oil covering my rear brake area ... not sure what it is ... At first I thought I ran into an oil bucket or something, but after cleaning the oil still slowly coming out ... Engine sounds a bit empty as well (imagine knocking a full tank and knocking an empty tank, mine currently sounds like the later)

yes dude..its gotta be maintain high... im at ...hmmmm.. maybe i show u my vdo of my rpm during test runs,its at 10,800-11,00 which gives me only 500 left exiting outta corner to upshift b4 hiting redline.i dont have vdo cams up during races.thats a def no show for me. the normal is usually the 9k onwards which probably be doing an acceptable lap times of 2.03-2.05..

i guess u wondering wad i meant by 85% of bike power.... if im capable of exploiting the fulll power potential of the RS, i est it be a laptime of 1.58 low...

full on throttle is not what i meant abt 100% power,anyone can just throttle on the straights... its the whole package... wont state much here.. theres a whole series of process from the entry speed to cornering and exit speed..

and the braking part, this is a test of yer nerves.its PG T1 that u can really put yerself to the test...WOT all the way(top speed sud be around 150km) n brake at the 50M mark just before banking into the corner,sometimes not breaking just downshifting at 50M n entering the turn...because 2 things can happen when u trying too hard and brake at the 50M mark and few things can go wrong,actually its nothing wrong...its just the nerves (or lack of it) taking over n causing panick n thus crashing..

My rpm around T2 is peaking at max rev from entry speed to cornering n exiting.My T4 is a WOT entry all the way to T5 .my peak entry speed into T7 just before flicking my bike into the tightening T8 is 148km..

normally i dont disclose this (hence my vdo never been posted up but only for my reference but some guys have already view it and also pai say to show,at times i really over rev my bike which is not ideally smooth riding),My T6 is a WOT 5th gear without braking into the turn and unless able to come to this level then can start talking abt kicking some rats if not, maybe kicking couple of yahama 4 stroke sparks would be more a reality.. (because the humble kup chai Yammies Y125Z wud prob kik the RS ass too if riding in the 9k plus rev range).

 

now back to yer question...rpm too low is not hard to exit the bend,(prob on wrong gearing) but u can still make across it,its only the exit speed that will affect yer lap times..theres way to retify it if u discovered u enter with wrong gearing,low rev also cant get the bike to lean in as bike also slow n thus feels unstable..in fact the key to 2 stroke riding is high cornering speed,hmmmm very high cornering speed, my 125 cornering speed is much higher me on my daytona its only the acceleration outta corners that they slice us like hot butter...

oh ya n 1 more thing..yes u can improve n be fast as 2.00mins but then when it comes to racing,theres the usual bag of tricks thats always ready to be used during challenging for race lines into corners..

there a KR rider who is more than 86kg and he does an average timing of 2.00 so all those talk abt being fat will not make the bike fast are lame excuses...excuses to delay the walk so can continue the BS talk...

being light or heavy have pros n cons....wont state here too.. observe Dani Pedrosa riding closely, spot his strength n weakness n u know what its like being in the feather weight division n then observe the other heavier riders... lets say Ben Spies..observe how he or the other riders gain the advantage over Pedrosa n also the different body position

ave timing and FTD(fastest time of the day) is 2 totally different thing... many like to go say my timing is blah blah blah but thats the FTD not yer average.

my FTD is below my ave time n my ave timing is 2.00.08 +/-

 

i do hope to get an Aprilia RS125 only gathering in PG soon.. (have many who SMS me wanting to make a trip up)..

go low and see where the leak is coming from. is it from the engine case. bring tons of tissue paper wipe it n see. should be able to . if i'm not wrong the place we pour in has a little bubble to see oil level ?? safe side if u know u have very low EO. drain out pour in 600ml and ride to shop n check. if engine case is leaking = gasket gone so better not spend ur gst money first .haha change of gasket also nid to change of bearing. feelicks does it recently haha. so u gotta indentify where the leak specific.

 

anyway if very low engine oil u will have difficulty in shifting ur gears. so maybe u can try it out.

will be getting a rs125 once i get my license. can any bros advised on which variant/year's bike i should get? what else should i be looking out for?

get this bike if u still have spare cash to fork out. parts airn t cheap.. if u get a lemon like me and do it up from it, it cost me so far about 3k-4 plus. plus still got 1 yr of installment to go. FML

lemons can b sweetened one wat... in ur case i think its become lemon quash! ^5 for e cost of restoring e bikes... spent ard tt amount too to get my bike to where it is today =)

 

so 4 those hu r espiring to get tis italian beast, its either u blow 12k++ n get a 1st hand bike or a pre 06 model for 2-3k++ n throw in another 3-4k in parts...

the one and only...

Thanks man, appreciate. I just checked and it seems like the black oil comes out from the cable plugged to the rear brake (the part on the tire). There is no oil dripping underneath the engine, but just oil accumulating under the exhaust, on the rear brake and on the rear tire.

 

So far I have no issue with braking or shifting gears. However, the engine sounds not very healthy, it's like the lung of the exhaust got a cold or something ... it doesn't sound as strong and violent as before (giannelli btw)

 

I'm worries that I may have blown up the gasket, but then I was told I should have seen oil underneath the engine as well. Before I could bring her to the shop tomorrow or Wednesday, should it be safe to ride to work? I still need to commute in the mean time ... or if any bro is willing to have a look at her today, I'm very much happy to ride her to your house, be it west or east ...

 

P.S: Beat me but I seriously can't read the min/max on any container. One time I thought my coolant was all gone, just to see it was full when I opened the cap!

VTeclee... dude.. try come when we have mini meetup in PG.. i wont mind sharing with u what i know ,which aint much but it helps in minimising any error the rider input on the bike causing it to be unstable..yes u heard it right ,many riders complain abt their bikes being unstable,wobbley this n that blah blah blah but 95% of the time its due to the way the bike was ridden. try this.. ride yer bike till a reasonable speed, lift hands off.. super stable right? now move any part of yer body a little, she wobbles... n guess who made her wobble? observe a rider struggling to control his bike when she wobbles during a tankslap once the rider is thrown off...the bike straightens up and goes straight smoothly till she loses momentum or hit a tyre wall then drops...

u have to work on yer track lines,gearing,braking points,exit points,reference points,head,body,elbows,throttle,knee,foot positioning..damn thats a lot to do for just 1 simple corner..n PG have 12 corners waiting to give u a massive headache..hahahan Sepang have 15 corners in which only 2 are medium n 1 slow speed the rest are frickking high speed corners in which we have like a split second to do all those stuff...so its gotta be practise n practise till it becomes 2nd nature..

 

hope u can join in when Sporting Motors have their fun in the sun session..oh even if it rains, i will take her to the track thats when the real fun begins even though at times it can make me piss in my suit..

Alrighty here i go.. Hope the info below helps our Italian peeps here..

 

PJME Starter Motor - $130+

Fixed with $60 labour quoted from Ah Seng along with Stebel Airhorn. Starts and functions well, no hiccups and no gimmicks. Works well!

 

Wossner Piston - $250 from Ah Seng. [yes... i know Vik, you gave me valuable advice that day for better rates with our mr.eat-a-lot-with-gf but i was too late.. should have heed your advice.]

So far, no seizures no gimmicks. Run in carefully starting with 60km/h and slowly increasing the speed as the mileage accumulates. Now running at 160km/h++ when the mood kicks in! Not as powerful as last time but heck, i'm contented.

 

Hey Suf, I missed out on this post! Thanks alot for your review. I was abit hesitant about ordering the replacement starter motor from PJME, but had no choice. Glad to hear it's working well. Now i can confidently use it for my bike.

 

Looks like alot of people having problems with their starter nowadays. I think next order, everyone should get a spare, just in case. :)

Yeah. I thought of that too. No use having ohlin and arrow if we doesnt make use of it. haha.. Shall ask lawrence and vik for more advice and correct procedures before i proceed to track! :D

I've always been swamped with PMs, even with the smallest things.. Not that much about tuning though. Since you're the Guru!

 

I'm rather surprised that the questions increased, rather than decreased since i'm such a mean guy online. :)

 

In any case, some punks want to show how important and busy they are, so I decided to jump along on the bandwagon and act 'important' like them!

 

I'm suspecting, it's all BS. I love the way these fools desperately cling onto any question directed to them and type a barrage of text that's simply an eyesore and over the top in its content.. Oh well.. :)

haha feelicks ... sad .. our 3-4k no ohlin no nothing.. only engine up with pipe only ... sad... outlook all normal no bling bling eye catching stuff ..hahah but urs still got one of a kind paintjob somemore pepsi blue. ops... in my case i really experience **** to current state so i totally appreciate what i'm having now, yet feel painful for my wallet. haha. lets head in jb next week man.
